I agree to a point, last season you could argue Coleman, Morgan, Gana, Barkley and lukaku were the only players who would good enough for a team with aspirations of CL football. With an outlay of 150m you could argue we could add Rooney, Keane, siguardsson and Pickford to that list. However we could well lose Barkley along with lukaku. However we look overloaded with centre midfield players and lack pace and a striker within our squad. Furthermore as I have repeated on many occasions we need a centre back with pace that would alllow us to play higher up the pitch.

Dont disagree with a new pacey centre back or two at all. We are better than what we were, but still a way from where we would like to be. Just shows that 150M might not be enough to break that top 6, let alone top 4!
I am pleased with Pickford, Keane, Gylfi, Wayne, but injuries aside, Sandro and Klaasen have got to start showing something. Then add in 3 or 4 more, which we wont this season.

....I always have a close look at the voting, fascinating when it's either close or there's a clear winner. DCL running away with this one on 63 at the moment suggesting he's won over many sceptical folk.

The MoM voting is a great way of reflecting the true views of GOT members. Voting is simple but it is so effective. I agree, the more voters the more accurate the outcome. These are truly worthwhile polls.
What happened to the option....
NOBODY!!

Didn't watch the game but from what I can tell it looks like we lost away at the champions by two goals?

Have you watched much Everton lads?

I'm not overly bothered about today myself but I think people are more annoyed with the total lack of a performance again rather than the actual result.

If we really want to step up a level we need to start looking at games like this and thinking we stand a chance of getting a result.

It's away to the champions with a team containing lots of new players in a week where we've played 3 days in just over 6 days mate. It's a first competitive loss in 7 games. If it drags out until October then yeah I'll be a bit perturbed but right now it's just one of them. The fume at everything act from many is a bit weird.

Didn't really expect us to win today and not to upset . Showed we need some more players and hopefully the board will deliver this week. Badly need a centre back to play with Keane and think holgate could slot in nicely as the third centre back when seamus comes back . Up front we just need some pace so hoping for a big name from somewhere .

Yeah I agree in isolation.

I think this would happen regardless of circumstances though. We deffo need to go at teams a bit more regardless of their status. Fear nobody etc.

It may come in time. I can give a bit of leeway to the proper top teams in the league (Chelsea and Man City to a lesser extent), if we role over again at Liverpool and Arsenal etc, teams like that then I will start to worry. These are clubs we need to start treating as our equals now.

Fair enough mate, time will tell. For me we are still not at the level of the clubs above us. It does however frustrate me when we crap it away to them although it could just be they have superior players to us and that's what counts.

Yeah, much different if we had Coleman (still can't get over that tackle)...And Bolasie.
But why play Holgate? I like the lad but he was useless going forward.
Ok part of that had to do with Sandro in front who was completely useless.
It looked like Rooney was trying to mentor him, give him the belief. But deep down they most know this is not where he belongs.
I'd much rather see him in the LCB ie Holgate - Keane - Williams/Jags/?
Playing Holgate in the 3 and Martina at WB would have been more adventurous, but I really think Koeman wants to take the cautious option.

We're 3 goals better off than the equivalent fixture last season. If we continue this rate of improvement, we'll beat em 1-0 next season. Cheer up it's all roses lads. :)
