I said on the video I did last night that we shouldn't underestimate the importance of our younger talent committing long term and what that is starting to symbolize.

If you're around my age and grew up with EFC in the 90s and 00s, you'll remember our biggest concern was always "how long can we hold on to this lad for" but I don't really think like anymore. I expect us to keep hold of our talented youngsters now. That's progress, right?

Video here btw:

When we had Stones, Barkley and Lukaku, I always thought we would struggle to hold onto them.

I think the managerial situation, and progress towards a new stadium are big factors in the coming seasons, in regards to club perception and player recruitment/commitment.

We have had a poor, and at the same time significant season imo.

I haven't read through the thread but my spirits dropped when I noticed Kevin Friend (a fatuous surname) is the man in charge. He is almost as incompetent as Dross Moss

Yep, and it's one of those where I don't see a point being of much use either.

Perfect scenario, win, back in the mix, tails up going into the derby.

Reality, probably the polar opposite.

COYB

Alonso nailed on to have the freedom of the right hand side thanks to the dastardly duo of Walcott & Sidibe.

Need to go 3-5-2 for me and keep it tight these next two games.

Good way to look at it mate yes.

100%

Anything but 3 points and the season is done.

It’s not, there’s 9 more games for us to show tangible progress and show us what we can achieve next season. Europe or not, I’m looking forward to the rest of the games this season with Carlo at the helm.
