We often do against United at home. I thought we should have beaten Arsenal comfortably away from home, but it felt like another hard luck story.

I feel that we have the Manager to change our mentality, a win away from home against a top side could quicken the process.

Chelsea are a decent side, especially going forward. But really we have nothing to fear.
Agreed and I think most of our players dont look afraid. As fans we need to realise that we're still playing catch up and not to sulk too much if we don't win these games.

Yes, probably that. As long as we don't get suckered into thinking that 3-5-2 is anything more than a tactical change of pace to be used sparingly, I think we can use it on a spot basis.

Much as I don't think Davies is the answer, I think he's probably better than Morgan here. Worth trying Sidibe in this formation. We should be less likely to get hurt by his limitations this way, so perhaps we can take advantage of his potential upside.

Joseph Yobo scores Everton's second goal v Chelsea in this Premier League match which was played at Goodison Park on the 17th December 2006.

I remember that game....a happy birthday present for me from Joe :)

But I am proper misty eyed watching that clip.... football as it used to be.

The ball hits the back of the net and you go mental :celebrate:

Unlike now when your first thoughts are about VAR

I'm a bit confused as to why we would switch our formation from something that has seen us play very well to something we haven't used with much success in a long time. Also don't quite get why we would move a player with next to no experience in central midfield to that spot from the wing spot where he's shown to be a bit useful.

Anyway Carlo is a 4 at the back man, and he will stick to his principles here. If Digne isn't fit I'm guessing Sigurdsson and Walcott start on the wings. If he is maybe Walcott and Iwobi. It feels like Carlo isn't putting much faith in Bernard and he hasn't started him away since the West Ham debacle.

Chelsea are a bit depleted so this is a chance for us. They could be without Kante, Kovacic and Jorginho in midfield, Abraham is iffy, and Pulisic and Willian are both hurt. That's basically the full midfield and attack that powered them through a good run around Christmas. The key for us is always the front two. If they do their job we can beat anyone.

is Carlo available to instruct from touchline? what happend to his appeal?

I actually had Bernard in first but then changed it. I don't think Caroo will play him against Chelsea away from home.

I really like Bernard but maybe he is best in matches we have the most possession, probably at Goodison. I am also fine with having a player like that in the squad, especially as there was no big transfer fee involved.
Did you see that pass to Sigurdson though in the United match. Iceland was so shocked, that he mistimed his shot, then sat down, then sulked, then pulled his legs away when he saw the ball moving towards him and lost us the game. Great pass though.
