Pleased with the performance, particularly the 2nd half.

Not Unsworth's fault, like, but it's annoying how often we play well against the top sides away over the years and still not end up winning.

Beni impressed me. He obviously needs to work on his passing, but I love how he takes the ball and manages to keep it at his feet rather than lose control. Looked incredibly composed for a player with no experience.

Kev and Lennon improved drastically in the second half- particularly Kev. He seems to have a great understanding with Tom and they will only get better with more time under Unsworth.

Tom and Kenny had mixed performances.

Dcl was lively. Good work by Oumar.

That crossed my mind too. In a way the game reminded me of a Moyes-esque Dunkirk-like victory in defeat. Ah well. Small steps.

No denying how much better we were mate.

How he got them to play like that in less than 2 days I will never know.

But we still lost.
I know. I don't feel like we are getting relegated anymore though. Basically the only fit Chelsea first teamers who didn't play were Hazard and Luiz and we battered them for about 20 minutes. I'm excited here. Play the kids

I just can’t get excited about a loss mate. Even though we were clearly better.

Agree we're not getting relegated, I'm thinking 10th/11th probably and re-assess next summer. If we don't get a decent goalscorer in January then 10th/11th is optimistic.

Having players in the correct position, not trying to jam players into the team just because you paid a fortune for them, actually giving the good young players a chance, actually having some pace and playing with a real formation rather than some jumbled mess no one understands. Hope Unsworth at least gets a chance to show what he can do.

That year Chelsea were crap they fired Mourinho in December and managed 10th without really ever hitting too much of a run of form. It is only late October so it isn't too late to maybe sneak 7th again or 6th if someone really struggles. That's me being optimistic of course but we have the players to do respectable the rest of the way.

Huge positives to take from that - first half we showed a great defensive shape to limit them to practically nothing, second half we took them on and dominated - more shots, more on target, and better chances - ultimately they had a great keeping performance and the width of a crossbar from losing that game.

Sign that they brought on Fabregas, Pedro and Moratta during that half shows how on top we where.

Willian was the best player on the park by a mile though, and every-time i see him he is, shocking he doesn't start like
