They’ve still got their normal compliment of about 40 players out on loan to chose from , including senior players like Zouma, Batshuayi, Morata and some pretty decent youngsters like Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount, Trevoh Chalobah. While they may be deemed not to meet their current ambitions , there’s enough potential in there to plug any gaps they have in future years if they chose/have to use them.

Yeah - Mourinho was really plucked from obscurity.

Actually the flavor of the game has been much diluted by the fact the national leagues no longer have distinct characters of their own, with the mercenary players just following the money.

They were a comfortable top 4 side before he took them over, someone else would have bought them if not him
