I dont understand?

The archive has nothing to do with CPU, its the refresh/page loads. Its a big problem widely recognised with shoutbox/chatboxes on vBulletin at the moment, unfortunately.

I could maybe place it on its own seperate page.

Fair enough, I don't really know, was just guessing. Good idea bout separate page tho, or maybe have a clickable thing to 'show' it?

Depressing tbh.

Should get an IRC channel on the go instead if you seriously can't keep it up for 'cpu reasons'.

It was fun.

I'll print screen the bandwidth/cpu levels later.

21GB bandwidth the month prior chatbox.

117GB once installed. Massive difference that.

We were forced to move hosting company because the old host complained of CPU spikes. At the time we couldnt see the records, looks as though it would have been the chatbox that caused it back then.

Could maybe put it on another page? If you google "cpu vbulletin chatbox" or "cpu vbulletin shoutbox" and you will see what I mean

As Brownie says...could you just put one of the little arrow things (top right corner) to hide the Chat Box, then whoever wants to use it clicks it to show it. Or would that not make a difference?

Or maybe make the refresh longer? Or even make us have to refresh it, almost like the forum. Or am i being very stupid?

Both seem very logical, but given the demand... I would assume the nerd coders would have done so if it was possible

Will double check though.

Did the shout box use less or I am so out of the loop about this internet thingy that I should just shut the feck up because I'm just embarrassing myself?
