2025/26 Charly Alcaraz

What are our thoughts on Alcaraz half way through the season? Personally i thought at the end of last season he was a must buy after some impressive performances. But this season, particularly recently ive been a bit less impressed and i can see why Moyes kept him on the bench for so long. The issue seems to be technically and decision making. He seems to play well off the cuff but not when having to have a think about what hes doing.

Not a bad player to have to bring off the bench when trying to change a game but maybe that will be all, hopefully not.
I think he's a good player to have in the squad, but like most of out fringe players he's hampered by Moyes' reluctance to utilise subs and get minutes in his legs so he's up to speed when we need him to start games.

First, a decision will have to be made about what will happen with Moyes. In fact, with European competition also on the table, the team will need five or six more players.
First all if we carry on with the upward trajectory Moyes gets a new deal, and I believe he makes Charly surplus to requirements.

IF...we do make Europe yes the squad will require investment,as it will whether we qualify for Europe or not👍

….he’s a bit different to other options we have when KDH isn’t available, he primarily offers more going forward and to that extent he’s useful to have when chasing a game, just like at home against Palace.

I like him but he is what he is and I don’t think he’s going to be an ‘Everton Legend’ or worth ‘£40m this season’.

With the bizarre secrecy stance on injuries this season, ol Charly’s might be the strangest. Does anyone even know what his injury is. Could be weeks or months given the lack of detail provided so far.

Is it really detrimental at all to say something like “he’s done his calf and will be out for a few weeks”.
A bit odd if you ask me.
