2024/25 Charly Alcaraz

Charly had a couple of bad turns yesterday and lost possesion in risky areas, but the fact he is able to make those turns is itself and improvement over Dukes. We need more from him, although he showed some decent movement in the midfield.

I like him. Makes mistakes, but he's also willing to try stuff, carries the ball well, has good acceleration, a nice low centre of gravity and he's aggressive.

He's a very welcome step up from what we've had.

Some of Thewell's signings this season are genuinely really good progressive signings who have improved us now but also have scope to get better - N'Diaye, Iroegbunum, O'Brien, Alcaraz, etc

For all the hits and misses of the loans we made this season, the permanent incomings have been really good IMO and Alcaraz (as you'd have to assume he starts another 6 games between now and May to trigger the clause) is probably fair to lump in with them.
He has also played on both wings in the past so I don’t see why him and Doucoure, for all his faults, can’t play in the same team!
