Looked very alert and active. Great in the transition and clearly has an eye for a long shot. Had 1 near success and 2-3 bad attempts. It’s wasteful but I find it hard to fault a player trying things after going so long without that tool in the first 11.

A fine keeper's save prevented him from another assist tonight.

It was not a great game for him but he’s got that game changer energy, he could pull a goal or an assist at anytime. Not someone to count out even when the going gets tough.

He was the difference in the second half. Never stopped running, playing on the front foot and should have have had at least an assist.

Can’t wait to get N’diaye back because these two will make a serious midfield.

It’s clear he comes alive when he’s got space to run into and when he’s in and around the box. He’s only going to get better and I think he fits the Everton profile. A player who will improve every season without a doubt. Doucoure being his competition will also help. Horses for courses!

Based on what we’ve seen so far it’s a given we’re going to activate the transfer fee in the summer.

I like him. Makes mistakes, but he's also willing to try stuff, carries the ball well, has good acceleration, a nice low centre of gravity and he's aggressive.

He's a very welcome step up from what we've had.

Some of Thewell's signings this season are genuinely really good progressive signings who have improved us now but also have scope to get better - N'Diaye, Iroegbunum, O'Brien, Alcaraz, etc

For all the hits and misses of the loans we made this season, the permanent incomings have been really good IMO and Alcaraz (as you'd have to assume he starts another 6 games between now and May to trigger the clause) is probably fair to lump in with them.

Just a simple thing like the drop of the shoulder to make space for the shot 2nd half was good to see. Some real wayward shots and passing last night, he's still feeling his way into the tempo of the PL. But he's showing decent signs and hopefully 10 days with the squad now will get his fitness right up with the rest of the lads.

Things could be beautiful when Ndiaye is back and playing alongside Charly.

Like baines and pienar or arteta and cahill.... very telling we have to go back 12 years to make positive comparisons.

Brentford kept the shape very very well. But there was a couple times it looked like we were swarmed and he did a 180 turn and out of nowhere we were breaking on them and made the wholenteam look out of position. 15 million. That type of player is 40+ and beyond for me.

Crazy. Wouldnt be surprised if there's decent clubs out there looking at the situation and trying to tap him. Early days I know. But still.

Once the game opened he was the most dangerous player on the pitch. He seems less effective currently in compacted areas, but at 22 he has plenty of time to adapt all round. Will start most games next season if we sign him.

Can't wait until he is fully match fit, causing troubles already.

Given he's literally just come back into the Prem and essentially just played a season Brazil, I'm pretty encouraged with Alcaraz. Feel like we've not even seen close to what he can do. If we sign him permanently. He already looks fairly sharp, imagine him with a full preseason and a consecutive run of starts.

Looked dead on his feet at the end. Looks decent though. Could do with some shooting practice (as they all could)
