But has he?

It says winger on there.

"He usually plays as a winger, but has also been used in defence for the national team."

Left midfield mate! I prefer to trust my own knowledge over that of a website that any old fool can add to.

i might be wrong but i think he plays left back sometimes for russia,he's not going to play their ahead of baines,i would like to see played in a central attacking role maybe as a second forward

Signing Charlie Adam would be a major step backwards for us. We have much more class than him in our current midfield. Plus Blackpool won't sell there captain till next season.....if they go down!

He's a poor man's Osman.

Now qoutes like that make me wonder if you actually watch any other football teams than Everton cos he certainly wouldnt be a step backwards and he's better than Osman IMO, although there two totally different players!.

He's the younger, Scottish version of Mikel Arteta. I'd take him, for the squad if not the team. But then I think he'd want regular football, and he'd never be able to usurp Felli or tets.

And he's not like Arteta either, there range of passing his totally different to one another, as Arteta plays the short game, the 5 and 10 yard passes and triangle and intricate play from left to right or forwards and backwards, Adam can spread a ball 40, 50 yards from back to front, left to right and vice verse and he spots runners ahead of him quickly and can drop a ball in behind on a six pence, his vision and passing skills are right up there with the best in the league IMO.

I didnt really rate him when we was being linked to him last season but after watching him regularly this season ive really grown to like him and he's definitely a type a player we could do with cos we havent got a player like him in our midfield with his vision and range of passing, not even Arteta, but that being said, im not for one minute saying Adam is better, there just different types of player and both really good.

I think we zip it about midfield a bit too quickly for Adam. He likes to be the general, at the centre of everything, and the game's played at his pace.

I cant agree with you on that one, personally i dont think we do knock it about quick enough, i think were too slow in possesion most of the time and for me thats why we end up going backwards cos we dont pass it up the pitch through midfield quick enough and we get forced back and then it goes long from the back.

I dont know if you notice but when were on the ball and weve either got it down the left or right, we seem to stick there and keep on trying to play there, we dont have anyone who can switch the play and pick out a free man on the otherside of the pitch with a 40, 50 yard pass.

We seem to stick to one side of the pitch when in possesion instead of spreading the play from left to right and back again and creating space that way, like if we work it down the left with Baines and Pienaar before he left, we would go inside but then it would go back to either one of those 2 instead of it being spread out to the right, sometimes the ball will be worked down the left and you can see Coleman on the right in achers of space and no one looks to play a cross field pass over onto the right where we have players in space so we can spread the play and hopefully create more space to make more opportunities to get at the oppositions in good areas in the final third.

Now from what ive seen of Adam this season, he spots those things quickly and looks to spread the play and spray the ball left to right, right to left and make the pitch seem wide and create space by spreading the play and spreading out the opposition players so that in turn creates space for midfield runners or strikers to get beyond or in behind and then you can play forward or cross field passes to get us in advanced attacking positions with a better chance to score and Adam is very good at spotting things like that and can spread the ball around the pitch with ease and thats why he would be a good buy for us cos we havent got anyone in our midfield like him.

Good post mate, I completely agree with you on everything particularly the part about Coleman being in acres of space when we are building up a move down the left.

This season it seems we don't break on the counter quite as quick as we have done in previous seasons in particular this season we are having alot of trouble getting in behind teams. I feel Arteta has alot to do with the reason we are so slow on the counter when he gets the ball from the back he'll simply lay it off for Fellaini or Neville by doing so killing all the momentum of the attack and slowing the pace down.

I love Arteta but while he's so out of form we could do with Charlie Adam pinging hollywood passes around the park and spreading the play around.

A few clubs interested in him and has stated he wants to go now.

Isn't his agent ol Dave's brother or something. I reckon we will get him, however we need cash and if we can't find it soon I'm sure Mr Adams won't be keen to wait.

We move it about from player to player rapidly. No one hogs the ball. Adam hogs the ball. That'll be a culture shock to what our midfield is used to and it'd take a while for other players to come to terms with having to work with him. He wouldn't slot right in. That was my point.

I dont agree there. Fellaini is a pivot for our movement. A typical move at Everton is for Neville to come forward with the ball > finds Coleman > if Coleman is marked he knocks it back to Neville > Neville finds Fellaini inside him and the ball is worked the other way. You're right that we dont have a player (other than Heitinga) who likes to have a go at raking crossfield passes to speed the process up, but maybe Moyes directive to his midfielders is to keep to a short passing game?
