That's a load of absolute bollocks mate
Those people are supporters who want to go and see big games with big teams because that's what being in the top division is all about
It's the people who want the likes of Villa out the league who are "wallowing", because they don't believe we can compete with the big teams and want them gone
But then again, you taking a negative stance on something is no surprise...
I don't think it is bollocks. I genuinely think that the people who say "I'd rather have a day out at Aston Villa" are the same people that say "We don't need to add that much" following two seasons of failure and dreadful performance.
Live in such a bubble of constant negativity. It's genuinely astounding. I can imagine you don't bother putting trousers on in the morning because they'll probably just rip anyway
villa will need a complete overhaul. their team is turbo gash
There's absolutely zero correlation between those two comments
For instance, I like going to Villa because it's a good day out, but I'm also fully agreed that we have a big summer ahead of us and need to add some serious depth to our squad
It's okay for fans to enjoy an away day you know, it doesn't have to be a penance
I know you have made a bit of a niche for yourself on here as the forums equivalent of Victor Meldrew, but you need to lighten up and wind it back a bit
Lerner sold the club mate. This in a nutshell, anyone panicking about them (you know who you are) need their heads testing, they would have to spend massively to remotely compete and I doubt Lerner would be willing to do that

Nobody has a problem with people enjoying away days. I just think it is naïve not to recognise the potential of certain clubs, and the impact they can have on Everton. The impact that they were having on Everton for years, not so long ago. When Newcastle were hand-picking our best players, and beating us to the signature of players we wanted to sign etc. When Leeds were in Champions League Semi-Finals, had regular top four finishes, and were seen as far more attractive than Everton.
Like it or not, if the likes of Newcastle, Leeds and Villa finally get their houses in order, after years of their own gross mismanagement, things will get significantly harder for EFC. Don't get me wrong, we may still be able to have one of them absolutely amasing away days in the West Midlands, but it will be harder to compete, and harder to bring an end to our trophy drought of 24 years.
When did that happen?
lolWhen did that happen?
No one is disputing that a bigger more traditional club like Villa would have a better chance of attracting a player than a smaller one like Bournemouth, and that they would present a sterner test for a club like Everton
what I'm disputing is this utterly stupid comment you made that enjoying an away day at a big club somehow correlates with not wanting significant action in the transfer window from Everton
