I never replay. Thats bush league.

I sent this photo to my brother last week. My Everton team were unbeaten in 10. Villa hadn't won in 5. We lost 4 1. His response? "Champ Man gonna Champ Man"View attachment 84949

Yeah if the margin is 4-1 that's something else. If I've pummeled a team for 90 mins then they win 1-0 in the 91st with their 1st shot on goal then there's a danger I'm going to replay it

I forgot to post something like this in my OP. Nothing worse than someone spawning a win against you with 1 shot on goal when you've had about 40, and then realising it's been too long since your last save so you can quit and replay the game
This would happen, seemingly, all too frequently which would result in some teenage fits of rage. A few keys would require re-attaching to the keyboard and cushions would be flying across the room.

These days I have to make do with the Mobile version as no longer have a working laptop. It’s akin to CM01/02 (the best ever) in the way it plays and level of detail, so no surprise it is still very enjoyable and can get addictive. Currently into a 4th season with Everton having just won the League and Carabao Cup. Tom Davies is worth north of £100m and a colossus in midfield.

Did anyone ever experience on early versions, 01/02 in particular, such financial mismanagement that sections of your ground would be closed down due to disrepair? This happened when I was sweeping the lot with Milan and the board would eventually begin selling off star players (Ronaldinho and Cedric van der Gun) to balance the books:mad:

Used to happed all the time with Everton in that version.

Ian Mackintosh's series from the Setpieces playing through was great.

FM08 when, if you instructed for corners to be aimed at the near post, you pretty much always scored from at least one corner a game with Samba, another boss player on attacking corners was Michah Richards. Them with Matias Fernandez and Obafemi Martins, could turn a mid-table team into serious challengers.

Please don’t give away my secrets

I took the Queens Park job and took them to the top of the SPL. I had spitefully bankrupted Rangers, but just couldn’t overhaul Celtic no matter what I did.

I was able to win a few cups and get regular Champions League football, but topping the game was a step too far. Part of the issue was the board’s refusal to change our amateur status. It meant I had to pay misfits massive wages so they would join on “semiprofessional” contracts.

Ended up with a team full of players other teams were loathe to touch with a barge pole due to their unprofessional behavior. Ended up with Nicolas Anelka and Mark Viduka up front! Think I also ended up with Van Hooijdonk.

I loved CM 97/98. Everton were one of the best teams. Jon O'Connor, John Oster and Michael Ball were all amazing. I think Ibrahima Bakayoko was the best player in the game, you could sign him from Montpellier.
Yes I think that was the version where Bakayoko was boss. Zinedine Zidane was an average left wing-back too IIRC

I remember winning the league with Ajax way before the season had ended and then getting offered the Chelsea job, taking it with them in 4th and winning the league with them too. 2 leagues 1 season. I’m amazed I never got any real life offers after that.

I won the Scottish Premiership with Hibernian and made it through to the group stages of the Champions League, beating Real Madrid at home in a group game. The sheer pride of it!

We didnt make it out of the group unfortunately.
