Championship Manager memories

That version and the Italia one were awesome. My Chris Bart-Williams 69 goals was that version. IIRC 4-2-1-3 was the go-to formation. No wingers.

Chris Bart Williams was a godsend on that game, I’m sure you can download the emulator somewhere

the other go to players for me where Tony Sheridan and Willie Boland from Coventry and Alan Moore from Middlesbrough

I can't remember what year it was but Sebastián Abreu was an absolute beast, he was free at the start and almost guaranteed to be the top goal scorer.

All on 01/02 - still play now with the updates.

Went Bradford, went from division 2 up to the premier league. Won the league cup when in the championship, and the uefa cup the following season and finished 3rd.

Luis Fabiano scoring twice as many goals as he played.

3 seasons unbeaten, Villa played my rampant Everton team in the last game of the season, if the won they stayed up at the expense of the RS, they of course won.

I need a life...

Abreu was playing for Deportivo on the one I had, always a beast, but you couldnt top Maxim Tsigalko!

Last years edition I went 16 seasons deep with my Everton team.

Freddie Beckwith (the only player who's name I put on a shirt and he's not real!)
Roland Charrier
Iuri
Callum Burnett
Sigurd Gronli

!6 years, 6 titles, 3 European Cups, a UEFA cup, 3 FA Cups and a League cup. I loved those boys and then my lapop died and they were lost forever...

Currently playing 01/02 with Roma. Just won the lot in my first season with only one league defeat, the front three of Batistuta Montella and Totti is just unstoppable. Signed Rio, Riquelme, Vieri and Mexes to take on the new season. Signed Taribo west on a free as well obviously!

Whenever I used to go Everton I’d sign expensive players and spread the transfer fees over 3-4 years. You could do it for a while and I was able to win the league and do well in the Champions League. That was until the board eventually sussed you out and you had more money going out than coming in, and you’d eventually get sacked. It was fun to see how long you could last.

I’ve banned myself from Football Manager games now though as they completely take over my life. I scraped through the first year or two of uni before jibbing it off and knuckling down. Too many times I found myself scrolling through player lists looking for bargains and playing until around 6am smoking joints until it was light outside.

Good times.

FM12, had an Everton save where I won 30 odd trophies in 6/7 seasons. Big Chris Samba was my top scorer in one season, every 40 odd from a corner.

This is all despite the fact I almost bankrupt the club with free agent signings of Samuel Eto'o, Carlos Tevez, and Iaquo Falque. Every now and again I turn it on, see the team. Makes me well up.
