Neville on sky:

how can Arsenal be in a super league they just drew with Fulham
I've said this to my mate here for years. It's such a crap club. They've not even had a sniff of the league in 20 years and are probably going to finish 9th. But, yep, DEFINITELY deserve to be in a "super league" because....

The downside would be the other 14 clubs couldn't afford to pay their bills without their massive incomes.

Could see a lot of cancelled contracts if it happened.

As I say, we would become a Tranmere overnight, now the rest of the league would as well, but its not all sunshine.

No chance imo.

The domestic bodies will ban all player trading with those teams as they wont be reconised -- also players wont fancy giving up internationals -- alot of them will tear their contracts up.

imagine telling an elite level player they cant play for their country anymore lol

Madness.

It depends. Sky would still show the Premier League, deals signed up to for next season already I believe, there'd be a transition of sorts but if they banned all player trading with the breakaway clubs that'd be another nail in the coffin for it. We also have a relative 'sugar daddy' owner so would be insulated a bit, plus FFP would be binned off.

Overall it'd be a massively good thing for us, and for football. It'd reset the game completely, which is badly needed - an unoffial 'salary cap' scenario.

Fans having to play six holidays abroad a year just to watch away games hahaha

Local fans would most likely do what United and Wimbledon fans have done and setup a new club.

I really dont see how those clubs will be successful doing this.

Why should clubs be destroyed because of the greed of a few men? Such a bizarre take.

If you were a fan of any of those English clubs would you continue to support them?

Knowing that the only benefit is seeing your team play 3 italian and 3 spanish sides a season...every season...forever.

Any fan of those teams should see their owners as betraying the fan base.

Im amazed City's ownership havent taken the same stance as PSGs...massive shot in the foot by them.

Let them go if they want to go. Yeah it would really hurt us in the short term but football would go on. Football would recover and I've no doubt the PL would recover as well. Football fans in the UK want to watch British football.

I hate everything that this move represents but I am ambivalent to them going. Let them run on.

Maybe. I think eventually UEFA and FIFA will come round to it, they are just sabre rattling to get a piece of the pie.
See the very strong UEFA statement today. Clubs who form a breakaway will be banned from domestic competitions and their individual players at International level.
