Was Naismith an attacking midfielder for Rangers? I struggle to see Moyes not noticing the void of Cahill role being vacated.

Central midfield is fine, at least compared to some of our other positions. Half the squad can play central mid to some degree, and about 5-6 of them can actually do it well (Gibson, Fellani, Osman, Pienaar, Neville, Junior).
Would spend the money on other positions if we're going to splash the cash.

Yeah played just behind Jelavic. I still think Moyes will end up with him in that role rather than play Fellaini there all the time.

Same games in my head when I read the first boring typical comment of he's too small and can't cope in the centre.
On each occasion I'm sure i've walked out of the ground saying something along the lines of that should show people and stop the moaners. Obviously it takes more for some people.
Leon is an excellent central midfield player who has spent a lot of time playing on the wings to help the team. He is not a wide man but he works hard and never hides or moans. Unlike some of his and our supporters!!
Well in mate. Sick of the stick he gets. One of our absoloute finest footballers and exactly the kind of ball playing attack minded midfielder the people ****ging him off are often crying out for. If he wasn't from Skem and hadn't been pushed out to the wing so often, people would be less quick to have a go at him.

Osman deserves a prolonged run in his natural position now Cahill's gone. I know it's unlikely to happen but he does deserve it after years of being played out of position.

Thing is we have more options going forwards now and that hopefully will mean Leon gets a few chances to play in his best position. I can see the players interchanging positions for certain games and within most games.
We got options and have a positive start and look to the team.
From the limited things I've seen of him I think Junior could add to this as well.

I'm not so sure. Moyes was saying at the end of the season that he sees Fellaini's position higher up the field, which we saw against United. It worked well and you know how Moyes often puts him up front when we were chasing a game.
On the other hand, if Naismith turns out to be a good player then it would make sense to start him just behind Jelavic, and make use of their already brilliant understanding of each other.
Either way I think we will be getting a CM in whatever capacity before the window shuts. Moyes loves them.

Agree with what's been said above really, give Osman a permanent central role, interchanging between centre midfield and attacking midfield and watch him excel. He's massively underrated when we don't have the ball aswell, decent positional sense and good at pressing the ball. I'd love to see that before he gets too old.
