We've been getting fleeced for the most part since Mosh took over. Remember us paying the exact fee for Schneiderlin that United paid 2 seasons ago as if his value never decreased?

And we're in January. Smaller pool of players available and at a premium.

I agree, its actually a stage of development until you get a quality squad or you get to such a profile that players agitate for the move at their club. Look at Chelsea and City in their development in the first five years they were fleeced on every fee and wages. Its hopefully short term pain for long term benefit. That said and with the former in mind their has to be a point in negotiation were the value must be met three ways, the negotiation is finding that point.

Looks to me as if everyone wants this deal to happen, so it will.

Volley that Besikitas president back to Turkey, then go and throw in a £25/30m bid for Batshuayi.

This, when the Bestikas prezzy gets to London for the meeting let him get settled at the meeting place and then 15 minutes late have an aide walk in and say, "sorry, but our negotiations with Chelsea for Batshuayi are going longer than anticipated"

Show up in another 30 to 45 minutes and say, "we have a deal at 25, take it or leave it as we have other irons in the fire"

That or have one of Mosh/Usmanov's Russian associates have a discussion with him.

Guys, what you need to understand is when it comes to transfers our president Fikret Orman (Fiko) is a pain in the ass.I don't think this transfer taking too long is the result of Everton board's actions.Today we transferred Domagoj Vida who worth 9M Euros on transfermarkt for free.He is in his prime and if he had 3-4 years in his contract he would not go anything below 20M Euros in this market. At the start of the season we offered 2M Euros and Dinamo Kiev wanted 4M.Fiko left the table and he waited until january and bought him for free and this isn't the first time he does that.If we gave 4M at the start of the season we would probably be the number one in the league with Pepe and Vida in the back. What I understand from Cenk Tosun transfer is Fiko's attitude doesn't change whether he sells or buys.He will absolutely wait until summer if no one gives him the money he wants.

For people who still think Dembele is the better choice than Cenk I have some words. You guys can give chance to young guys time to time, but you can't make a 21 year old guy your main striker in EPL.You already have DCL and you need someone experienced and good enough for EPL in front of him.Cenk is a 26 years old all around striker who has lots of CL experience with 25 national team games and he can score with his left, right and head.Dembele might become a much better player than Tosun when he become 26, but the question is: Can you guys wait 4-5 years? I would go for Cenk.I don't think he will be a flop.He has a great body for EPL and he is very ambitious. He is not a guy who is gonna wait balls in the opposition area and lay there. If he can't get the ball be sure that he will come back, chase the midfielders like a defender and always press the defensive players of the opponent. He will work his ass off to contribute, but sometimes he can get angry and get a yellow.

From what I hear your coach doesn't love playing attack.Cenk is used to playing with a creative guy in his back(Ozyakup or Arslan) and wingers who love running to the box to give pass, shoot(Babel) or cross(Quaresma) to him. Also our fullbacks love to come forward.Just put him up front and create him some chances near the box.He will score for sure.

Cenk might be great, but we don't have to buy Dembele and wait 4-5 years to find a better striker than Cenk. Many already think he's better than Cenk to begin with, but there are other options out there that won't cost 35M. I like the player, but he's slow and he's not that great in the air. And this idea that he's going to work hard to press defensive players is lovely, but when you don't have a lot of pace, not sure how helpful that is going to be.

Frankly, there's no way we should be paying more than 20M for him, maybe 25M with add ons. He can go to China, he wants to get paid, he can get paid there. Willian Jose, Slimani, Nicolai Jorgensen, so many others...

Everton doesnt hold [Poor language removed]. After the statements, Besiktas fans want him to stay no way he will go for 22m + 3m bonusses. Everton is just wasting our time.

It's also about your reputation and standing in the game. If you get a reputation for being soft touch it won't end well.

Clubs will not stop chancing their arm either if we pay up. They will just start asking for more. If I knew a buyer was weak I'd do exactly the same.

The problem with Everton is we don't help ourselves. If I sold to someone what I'd hate to hear is they would walk away from negotiations. When Beskitas jet muddied the waters we should have decisively walked away and ended interest and moved onto our next target. It would have been a clear message to them, and the wider footballing world we are serious. The fact we are still negotiating I do find worrying.

I can't get Walsh really. His USP was finding bargains and from unorthodox places. I just wish he'd do that. If someone messes him about, move onto the next. At present we are increasingly paying good money for the same sort of players he signed for a pittance at Leicester.

If it`s anything like the Giroud fiasco, you can bet that we don`t have anyone else lined up.

The Director of Bungs needs binning in the Summer, when Allardyce is canned.

Because he's a scout mate, he didn't sign a single one of the Leicester or Chelsea players, he merely provided information on players for those that did to make the actual decisions.

Much like a oligarchs advisor or accountant may suggest a list of investments which the oligarch would then choose based on the information provided.

Hope you catch my none to hidden meaning about our owner and our dof.

...reports from Turkey that Tosun has been omitted from the squads mid-season break. Besiktas President is quoted as saying:

“Everton have made an offer for Cenk, reports that we have increased his price are false. Our Vice President, Ahmet Nur Cebi has been leading negotiations”.

It's on.

Buy two strikers. One injury and we are back to where we are now.

There is so much misinformation coming out of Besiktas, what does one believe. We made an offer which was initially accepted but no they want more. All down to a claim that a 35 mill offer from China was rejected, who is he kidding. Not me, Everton should say take it or we walk away.
