That's good to know. Impressive scoring record.

Actually he could be better. Besiktas had really good strikers for the last 3-4 years. To name: Mario Gomez, Demba Ba, Aboubakar, Negredo

Those players needed time too so Cenk didn't get all the chances. He could easily double those figures.

How "bad" do we need to be?

Two points from the last four games, two of which were against teams below us, suggest happen we are *that* bad, especially as we could barely muster a shot on target in any of them.

Now, neither @deipnosophist nor myself have tipped us for relegation.

We are merely pointing out that it takes a certain kind of complacency for any of our fans to dismiss the notion we cannot possibly be dragged back into the mix in such cavalier fashion and with such certainty.

Because we sure as heck can.

Especially as such complacency is based on nowt more substantial than the perceived shortcomings of other teams.

I'm not fully reassured at this stage but to have 27 points with 16 games left to play just seems like a points total that is too high to go down. Especially when we are sat in 9th, have some quality injured players due to return soon, and the January Transfer Window.

Whilst your point about the 2 teams being below us is a fact, with them both being away games, it is not at all surprising that we were as pathetic as we were. Had they both been home fixtures against those sides then i'd be more concerned.

Even accounting for a catastrophic collapse of say 3 wins, 3 draws and 10 defeats in our final 16, we'd end on 39. I reckon about 4 or 5 teams will fail to reach that amount this season, let alone just 3. All worst case predictions and very unrealistic for us to be that bad by the way.

No thanks, he is over rated.

I'd hardly count tosun as a sure thing either. Despite his CL goals, It wasn't the strongest group. And as we've seen with Sandro players can struggle to adapt, despite looking the part elsewhere.

Unfortunately I think were in a position were we will have to take a punt on any player. Only when we're a CL qualifier do our odds of signing proven quality improve.

Believe me neither Cenk nor anyone else in the club will be unhappy if he stays. If that happens then he will wait for the right time that's all. He knows himself and maybe he can do better than EFC in the summer. He wants EFC that's for sure, but don't ever think he's desperate.

There is no better than EFC...ask anyone on here..he can do one as far as I'm concerned

Porto, Leipzig and Monaco would bum half the Premier League to death.
