Can't remember the exact words but in a nutshell it didn't seem like he rated him.

The commentators talked about it a few times during the match.

Definitely made it seem like this was a Walsh player. Said something to the effect that with Walcott you know there will be goals...not so sure about Cenk.
He basically said he won't be use to the pace of the Prem so don't expect much from him today, I thought he did fine, he was tidy and showed promise.

DCL did more in 20 minutes to offer an outlet than Tosun did in 60.

That being said, I'm not going to write him off. Needs to bulk up and understand the physical nature of the PL.
Disagree he showed more physical presence upfront in the first 45 minutes than I've seen all season.Obviously tired second half understandably.Looks a player to me.The Turkish lads posts all think the problems stem from our midfield and I agree totally.

He was ok in his first 60 minutes in PL and needs time to adapt obviously. The lack of support for him from midfield and the wings was clear as day and you have to give him the benefit of the doubt. The midfield line was so deep so he was isolated up front at times but had a good link up play with Rooney and Sigurdsson. And Cenk's English looks quite good so that's a bonus in communication with his teammates too.

The likes of Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund also lost at Wembley against Tottenham this season(both 3-1 i think) so it's not a great shame to lose to them away but Big Sam needs to adress his midfield's deficiencies to get a good balance tactically and support his forward line so we can get a clearer picture of Cenk's ability to make his contribution. A winger or two in this window would also help as Siggy is more of a no 10 and Bolasie is useless.

The blindfold defending from Turkish fans is appalling though  Cenk is a player who never played at the top level before and only time will tell if he is good enough or not.Big Sam knows that and that's why he said this transfer is not a guaranteed success but a gamble.Let's hope he will be a big hit as he looks a decent guy.
He played in 6 CL games with 4 goals and 2 assists this season. Last year he received the award for best goal in CL. He also scored against spurs in europa league game 3 yrs ago when besiktas won

No real point in rating him until we provide him with the chance to score, today it was like hiring a Plumber and asking him to clean your bathroom, we provide absolutely no service to strikers, everything was hoofed onto his head from 60 yards, Aguero would have fared no different up front for us today.

Well, to my knowledge, Martina is the best option for left back if Everton doesnt buy a player for that position, isn’t it? (Since Baines is injured)

And I wasnt sure about Lennon but who to play at right wing then?

Come on mate, what is the worst possibility, being beaten 0-6 instead of 0-4 or so?

Think Kenny/Holgate could cover left back better than Cocu even DCL even Rooney because he is not good. Would always have Bolasie/Vlasic if attack was the intent over Lennon.

If BFS doesn't sort out the left back position this month/next week then he cannot complain about anything as it's currently our biggest problem of many problems.

Agreed.

Regarding Aguero faring the same, I think it’s the same for Calvert-Lewin, Sandro, and now Cenk. It’s a shame the previous two get blamed and slated by so many fans.

Our problems are in midfield. “It’s the engine room” is what I was taught, it connects and supports the attack and defence.

Dear Everton fans;

Even Niasse established himself to be a decent player in your eyes, right?

Well, when Niasse played in the Turkish league, and even after he left, he was considered to be a really average player(at best)

for example when he was targeted by Galatasaray last season, their fans reacted really angrily and asked the board to withdrew their interest on him.

what i basically mean is, Cenk is twice the player Niasse is and if you guys really are satisfied with a fringe player like Niasse, then you shouldnt have any worries with Cenk, yeah he is no Lewandowski but i repeat he is twice the player Niasse is..

Naisse is not a decent player in our eyes. He is not very good but before Cenk came Naisse has been our best option. That's how bad we have been.
I have faith in Cenk and even in his cameo today against a tough team we seen positives and I think he will be a hit only if we get support to him or play him in a front 2. We also have to release Siggy from his shackles and get the right supply from wingers also. That's why I think Cenk will benefit if we get Walcott. Walcott and a free Siggy should help Cenk a lot.

Cenk was in the last 3 things to be critisized out of 20.

I wish I had the belief that the rest of the team would help Cenk to score as much as he would for the team.

Looking to the tonight’s game it seemed not very likely but the opponent away was Tottenham.

I hope the Blues won’t be a pause in the career of last 2 years’ CL Knock-Out Stages’ best goals officially chosen scorer..

A fresh Everton fan.

I for one welcome our new Turkish brothers and sisters to the forum and watching Everton (or should I say having to watch Everton) and their opinions on our club.

This game was always going to be difficult, I don’t think the result was in question it wasn’t just a matter of how many.

The West Brom game will be the real test and I expect us to at least threaten their goal. Hopefully Cenk will get some chances to show what he can do.
If Sig is played behind the striker Cenk will get chances.
