im not sticking up for the hunters at all, think its the moral stand point when appraoching a wild animal in their habitat would have ended up with a dead lion if the lion posed them as a threat, which clearly they were.

More a moral reflection on the species sure but just pondered the thought that the headline would have been written differently had the lion been a lion in the first place

Might have a deal sorted for that vape gear you were on about the other day, just waiting on details of the swap

Exactly - we have to kill all of these dangerous lions to prevent them from evolving into giant monstrous Kaiju killing machines and we are forced to create giant mecha to defend our cities from this terrifying new menace.

Test runs have thus far been promising:

Not sure I could make a good argument about animals having rights but pretty sure I could about humans having responsibilities.

My earlier joke about nine lives aside, what gets me is how this is described as "hunting for sport." The word sport, to me, suggests at least some semblance of a level playing field. This clearly wasn't the case here -- being lured out of the reserve and then having a spotlight trained on it left the animal no chance. Same with hunting any wild animal with a high-powered rifle, replete with scope; the hunter is in no danger as he's killing from a distance. It's different if you're hunting for food, but let's call this grotesque incident what it really is -- a thrill killing, all set up to satisfy one man's ego. Charles Starkweather and Perry Smith would have approved.

it's powertripping. sick stuff really. that dude probs will get stuffed himself soon. personally i like killing smaller and helpless animals that cant really harm yu.

I don't see how having a licence changes anything... Either way he wanted to kill a lion that was defenceless with a gun. I'm trying not to sound like a vegetarian but where is the sport in that exactly? Fair enough if he was planning on grappling it with his bare hands but sniping it just seems too easy for it to be considered 'game hunting'. However I'll make an exception if he 360 no-scoped it.

IMO he's only apologising because he's been mugged off and it's escalated into an news story.
He used a crossbow.
Doesn't that make it OK?

i get this, i mean these hunters are bad beauts, but i almost end up cheering for the disease when things become popular on facebook, especially ifs ricky gervais moaning, i used to love his stuff too
Urgh. Clicky Gerbait. Saw him having a whinge about whale killing in the Faroes without a single understanding about ethical sustainable hunting.

Paying £35k to kill a majestic beast.

I hope someone smashes his teeth in with a mallet.

I bet he's hung like a canary
