He'll do more than Gravesen and he's more than likely better than Jags in midfield. Hopefully the quality is coming soon.

Not a dig mate, i wouldnt judge either him of Jacobson untill a few games in, but im wondering were we after these two all summer and were they keeping their options open until closer to the window.

Or

Do we have a potto piss in, which i think we do.

On the OS:

Everton are poised to sign Ecuador international Segundo Castillo.

The Blues have agreed a deal with Red Star Belgrade and the midfielder is set to join up with the squad in the next 24 hours to undergo a medical.

The deal is, of course, subject to a work permit, an application for which has been made.

Castillo is a very highly-rated 26 year-old midfielder and made his Ecuador debut in 2005. He joined Red Star Belgrade in 2006 from Ecuadorian side El Nacional after beginning his career with El Deportivo ESPOLI.

He is a regular in the national team and has made 33 appearances. He is primarily a defensive midfield player but he has a willingness to join in the attack when the opportunity arises.

Castillo was a member of the 2006 Ecuador World Cup squad in Germany and played in three of their four matches, including the last 16 tie against England, that was won by a second-half David Beckham goal.

Castillo had been training with Rovers at their pre-season camp in Germany, but failed to tempt Paul Ince into making a move for his services.

The Red Star Belgrade man is valued at around £6 million, a price tag which Rovers appear reluctant to meet.

Blackburn chairman John Williams confirmed that the club will not be tabling a bid for the 26-year-old and will now be turning their attentions elsewhere.

"At this moment in time, we won't be making an offer for Castillo," he told the Lancashire Telegraph.

"The player has returned to Red Star Belgrade."

There was initial confusion when Rovers initially contacted Castillo, as the player believed a bid had been accepted by Red Star and that he merely had to agree terms and pass a medical, while Ince actually wanted to view him in a trial period.

this must be option B of Ste Mbia?

No way I can see us bidding that kind of cash on a DM if Mbia is coming in aswell.

Wigan boss Steve Bruce is to snap up Ecuador's midfield star Segundo

Castillo - after a tip-off by his pal and fellow countryman Luis Antonio Valencia.

Castillo is due to return to Red Star Belgrade but is owned by a club in his homeland, which Bruce is trying to contact.

Castillo is smarting after he was given a trial at Blackburn and not the three-year deal he expected.
