Some c63s in ebay right now around 20 grand, still not cheap like but considering their price new it
kind of is, mad how quick a new car depreciates! I believe my car was about £35k+ brand new, i bought it when it was 9 years old with 90k on clock for £7500, immaculate throughout, fsh , virtually every option, other then running costs im yet to have to spend a penny on it!

I have learnt very quickly from the focus to the Mercedes that running costs is the biggest factor in a car, like you say, you can buy a car brand new and it loses value rapidly, the way I see it now a 2016 Mercedes could hit the same pot hole my 2005 Mercedes does, the chances of damaging the car is still pretty much the same.

The good thing about having a second hand car is that I own it, no monthly fees goes out each month with a unexpected bill for wear and tear at the end.

Hi Paul

I'm never quite sure about this. To me it's Saab. My understanding is they kept re-working all the gm specs and basically not doing what they were told by GM and this led to the start of the troubles they got into. I got the windscreen washer pump changed and it was a gm part. That's about the only problem I,ve had in 4 years. (touch wood)It's been a great car and still holds up looks wise. Well I think so anyway. I've looked into Hirsch upgrades and swapping out the sounds to a Modern DAB / sat nav but at that point now where I'm looking at something a bit newer as car technology last 3 years has come on so much. It has been a great car though and as you say plenty poke for a diesel

GM went to Saab and said hey your bleeding us dry, can you know try not to do that. Saab said sure and continued to make zero changes. So GM said well then you are going to use GM/Opel parts and chassis in your cars and Saab said OK. Then Saab proceded to tweak them so much that the cars ended up costing even more to produce than before. So GM tried to flog them off to China, who sometimes just buys companies for technical know how and patents. And China took one look at that mess, and immediately realized that this company doesn't know what the hell they are doing.

That doesn't mean that Saab made bad cars. They made a nice looking and competitive car in the $30-40K price range. Only Saab would spend 50K to build the damn thing. They were a model of assembly line inefficiency.

My dream car as a kid. Awesome look. Panamera is the nearest thing to it looks wise. Looked at a basket-case in Jersey last year but garage owner wanted nearly £45K for it.
I had a reliant scimitar a few years ago, which gives a good passing resemblance of the interceptor. Was a great car, til I wrapped it around the front end of a juggernaut :(

Chrysler 383 or 440 engine. Why not just buy a yank with same engine for £8k and discover that spares are cheap and plentiful even in the UK? Massive tuning potential too, as these went into Chargers and Challengers (now you're talking dream cars)

Trouble with buying "exotics" is that repairers/restorers think you're minted. A mate of mine bought a Ferrari 400 as it was really cheap but can't afford to put it back on the road. £2500 for an exhaust system.
