It's a bit risky around the shires due to the highwaymen.

Drive a 58 plate SAAB 93. One of the best cars I've ever had. Now 115 000m drives superb. Wish they were still making them.
Worst - Renault Lauguna 2003. So many things went wrong with it. Spent a fortune on the damn thing.

Just took delivery of a brand new seat leon cupra. Only on lease for 2 years. It's like a bloomin rocket. 290 bhp, although it's claimed that they push out over 300.

Must say I love it, first car I've leased and would deffo do it again. Some real bargains to be had.

Aye. I had a '53 2.2 TiD meself. Lovely drive, and a fair bit of poke for a diesel.

Is yours a 'proper' (i.e. Saab, not a GM) model, being on a '58?

I'm never quite sure about this. To me it's Saab. My understanding is they kept re-working all the gm specs and basically not doing what they were told by GM and this led to the start of the troubles they got into. I got the windscreen washer pump changed and it was a gm part. That's about the only problem I,ve had in 4 years. (touch wood)It's been a great car and still holds up looks wise. Well I think so anyway. I've looked into Hirsch upgrades and swapping out the sounds to a Modern DAB / sat nav but at that point now where I'm looking at something a bit newer as car technology last 3 years has come on so much. It has been a great car though and as you say plenty poke for a diesel

Mate had one - Same year. Dynamique. Front bushes, tracking rods & electrics gave him all sorts of grief.

yep mine was the 1.9 Dynamique. rear Axle bushes twice, gear box rebuild (sounded like two bin lids being rubbed together), cabin made a weird constant humming noise. It was an absolute heap. Used to pass other Laguna owners and we'd give that "yep mine too mate" look at the lights. It,ll be bean tins now, no way will it still be on the road.
Daughter has a 53 Mini Cooper and its bullet proof. great fun to drive around though it's bumpy and creaky but it's been a good first car for her. Loads of them still about.
