I need a cheap run for less than £20 whilst I figure out what I'm going to do more long term.

Any ideas? The first one that came to my mind is a Fiesta.

Golf Mk 4 Tdi mate.

Cheap tax, bullet proof engine if looked after ( should have full service / don't touch one that doesn't ). 40 - 50 mpg.
Fast and quality build is very good. You'll get a minter for 2k.

Assuming you mean £2k and not £20, you should get a solid golf for that.
NAH LAD WHAT CAN I GET FOR A SCORE?

Cheers lads. I'd considered a Golf but the Mk5. I'm tempted to jib off the idea of a new car and just live with a cheap one. It's great having a new car, but the novelty wears off after a while and then you're just left wondering how much it's costing. It's the reliability which is the main issue though.

I'd recommend an Oyster card for that price.
Got one of them. They're sh*te.

Mate you will pay a lot for a Ford or a VW if all you're after us a cheap run around, they're expensive brands.

For something just as reliable, but not as expensive, try a Japanese make - Kia, Nissan. Solid cars, you'll get better spec for a lower price.

Avoid European makes like Fiat, Citroën etc.

I'd consider a Civic, but most other Jap cars that age are painfully ugly.

From experience I completely agree with steering clear (see what I did there?) of European cars. It's as if they've got a team of toddlers on the production line the build quality is that bad.

Actually did consider a moped but I just couldn't be arsed with it.
