Was given the opportunity on a VR6 Storm a few years back. It's a capable car, but to cut a long story short my head overruled my heart and I got a TT with the same configuration. R8 V8 apart they're the best sounding VAGs imho.

On the off chance, do you know if the Storm is still for sale ?

I've always been in the market for one, as I'm a massive classic VW fan ( I'm about to add a third to two that I already have )

I had a TT 180 convertible and hated it, as it was so perfect !. It just had no character and was so bland. Don't get me wrong it was a beautiful car, but I just didn't enjoy driving it and got shut of it after 18mths and bought another Golf Gti instead !

What are the scams mate, thinking about putting one of mine on there in the near future ?
I've only had 2 but it was almost word for word the same message. Here's a copy and paste:

Hi,
Great! please consider it sold ,i am willing to pay your full asking price because i need to buy it for my cousin asap, i have read through the advert and i'm totally satisfied with it,sadly i would not be able to come personally to collect due to my hearing loss and me being in wheelchanow. I have a courier agent that would help me to pick it up at your preferred location after you have received your money and i'll pay you via PayPal today. Where is the pick up location so that i can inform the courier agent about it now

Now I like Pay Pal for its ease of use, but I've heard stories of sellers being scammed by people through Ebay before, I think they give too much power to the buyer.

Wow, that's pretty low, using disability to throw you off guard.

How does it work though ?

Do they pay by PayPal, then cancel after the cars been picked up ?

Some people know no depths! I'm just glad I got the second email because I was ever so slightly tempted to reply.

The only thing I can think of is the buyer would raise a dispute with PayPal perhaps saying the car wasn't as described or something, and therefore mis-sold. PayPal is great for buying from dodgy people but I think it has its flaws.

Cheers, will remember this .

I know a mate got scammed over concert tickets

Apparently to do with diesels which is not going to have had much of an impact here in the States but hey, at least Congress will get to puff their chest out like they did with Toyota.

They are going to have to pay out the nose because unlike GM with their starter malfunction this was a deliberate act. Airborne pollutants are strictly regulated here because the Sierras in the west and the heat/humidity in the mid-atlantic/South just trap that stuff.

However even if the fine is 20-30billion its kind of a drop in the bucket in the long run for a company that large. They can break out the money they have stashed in some place like the Caymans and then tax write off the loss. So what I'm saying is that now is the time to buy VW stock.

Wow, VW appear in major trouble after it came to light that they have been systematically fixing their emissions data in the US.

They've not long recovered Audi's reputation over there too.

Probably won't make any difference to me whatsoever. But this annoys me slightly as I've only had mine for 6 days!

Won't affect you in the slightest mate.

Wasn't Toyota's problem with brakes that were causing fatal accidents though? I'd say fair enough on the chest-puffing on that one if it got lives saved.

Someone will do time for this one, as its a completely deliberate engineered fiddle, that'll have been signed off by production and maybe higher. It'll have been driven by cost saving, as I believe it relates to the adblue system. It sounds like some much smaller version has been fitted to the US variants that the EU models, that is programmed to only work when it recognises the emissions test sequence. That's sly.

Odds on VW building a factory in the US shortly? I fancy there'll be a deal done that sees them do just that.

Ah, now, on the radio this morning they're saying that this may mean that there are illegal cars on the road in the UK, not just the US, and that also there are rumblings that VW may not be on their own in this, they just happen to have been caught.
