You can already tell that it's designed to be an Audi and a VW and a Sköda and a SEAT.

That pic could be any of the 4 marques I've listed and probably will be eventually all of them.

Having been in all, the Sköda is the one I'd go for. More comfortable, near equal specs and cheaper.

GM would do that, but I've not seen enough selection from VW and Audi to know if we get the same offerings here in the US. If they were similarly designed, I'd probably opt for the VW over the Audi. Then again, I'm getting a little older and if the Audi is quiet and the leather is soft, I could be arsed to open the checkbook.

That's not a Passat. It's an Octavia vRS

I thought it looked a bit small. Still, that's a VW Golf underneath (Rabbit in USA).
Here's the new Passat, launched in the UK next week

Fair enough. Is it the Golf there now then? I didn't see that many when I went to NY and was mostly looking at other stuff. And eating.

And I'm a Ford man.

Yup...was between a Golf GTI, Focus ST, Mazda RX8, Honda S2000 or the Toyota 86 when I was looking fora new car. Ended up going with the 86 for various reasons (looks, RWD, coupe etc). Glad I did.

They're not very common, I'd say. You see a decent number of Jettas (Are they Boras in all of Europe or is that just Germany?) but not many Golfs. Americans have a weird aversion to hatchback passenger vehicles. Crossover SUV's? Totally okay, but if it's a "normal" car it has to be a sedan.

It's dumb, if you ask me.

It hasn't been called the Rabbit for well over 20 years here...just an FYI.

Not true! They used Rabbit again 2006-2009. Now it's back to Golf, though.

It's baaaaaaaaaaaaaaack

NEW YORK (CNNMoney)
Ford unveiled a new version of its iconic GT supercar, shaking up the market for exotic performance cars.
The "ultra-high-performance supercar" will go into production later this year and will be available in certain markets in 2016, the automaker announced Monday at the Detroit Auto Show.

The GT has a 600 horsepower, mid-mounted V6 engine, which the company says is its most powerful production engine ever.
