Its wrong sticking a v6 in that, should be a v8

Nice, I'm fairly partial to them...my Tacoma refuses to die, which is just fine by me.

Good work. They run and run and run.

Top Gear tried to break a Hi-Lux (not sure if Tundra or Tacoma) but i'm sure most have seen the episode. The thing kept running - it was left to be dragged out to sea by the tide, it had a building demolished on top of it - regular mechanic and no replacement parts - the thing kept going.

Then in their North Pole expedition - they took another Toyota Pick Up truck - the bloody things are monsters!

Tacoma's have the highest resale value of any pick up over here (or so I'm told - that might be a marketing gimmick that my wife gave me)....

Yeah, I was cracking up during that episode...only thing with the one they were beating up was I believe it was a diesel. It was defo an older Toyota, so here (US) it would be just a vanilla pickup/SR5 like they had for some many years and I still see rolling around town. Those 22R* engines go for ages.

Loved my Tacoma. Have not been disappointed with my Ridgeline, but the Tacoma was wonderful. Now if only they could figure out the minor things, like fender materials and paint...

Hate the fenders, even on my 2001, which are nothing compared to some of the stuff they've thrown on lately...wish they'd go back to the old body style, ie. Did you have the clear coat issue on yours? I'm assuming that;s what you mean by paint but maybe not.

They're not very common, I'd say. You see a decent number of Jettas (Are they Boras in all of Europe or is that just Germany?) but not many Golfs. Americans have a weird aversion to hatchback passenger vehicles. Crossover SUV's? Totally okay, but if it's a "normal" car it has to be a sedan.

It's dumb, if you ask me.

Not true! They used Rabbit again 2006-2009. Now it's back to Golf, though.
Bora is the old model sedan and Jetta is the later model sedan version.

Same car (Golf) beneath.

Mine was essentially this; very simple

The newer version has these fender flares (dunno what else to call them) that are a rough (gray) plastic material. For some body styles they'll body paint match them, but because of the finish the paint never seems to match. Maybe Toyota has fixed the issue now, but when I was shopping it looked really silly to me, and I wasn't going to spend $30,000 on a truck with mis-matched paint.
