Interestingly the world of pundits (Barton aside and let's be honest, he's hardly a paradigm of responsibility and positive public interaction) seem to be fully behind him after his apology. Presumably he's well known in these circles and if so the claims of "it's a one off" might be true, no matter how foul his actions were.
As I mentioned before, he'll be put on ice until the start of next season and then MNF will be relaunched and we'll all pretend this didn't happen.
The doors have been opened for him to stay

Everytime I watch it I'm left with one question.
How has he not been sacked yet?

No surprise that the echo is totally supporting him. Personally I don't think the fact he does a lot in the community etc has got anything to do with it. Spitting is the lowest of the low. It has nothing to do with who he is, who he played for or the fact his mates say he's a nice guy really.
The Echo: "It was indefensible - but we're going to defend it".https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spo...sible-jamie-carragher-apology-should-14402923
