I dont expect things to turn round for 2/3 seasons at the very least, the reason we got him in was because the squad here failed the previous managers, until theres 7/8 of his transfers in and around the 1st team then I wont judge him too harshly, yes maybe the tactics or formation have be a bit off the last few games but if we had scored from the James through ball people would be less worked up,football tends to turn on fine margins, the only thing I would like him to change is have the likes of Gordon on the bench

Target Lenglet... he goes to Barca so we go for a totally different player in Mina.

Target Gabriel...dither so he joins Barca and go for Godfrey...totally different

Target Zaha...rejected bid so we get Iwobi...different.

Target Doucoure...rejected bid so we get Delph...different.

Its like we want a player for a position and arent looking at them properly...
None of that is on Ancelloti though. Fans seem to be overlooking that claiming we've a squad good enough for top 6 and Ancelloti is clueless.

We've pissed at least 170m on players who just are not up to anything than mid table. Players we paid top dollar for who just were not worth it. Siggurdsson, iwobi, bernard, mina, pickford, keane, bolasi, tosun. Players i wouldnt take for a fraction of what they cost. Just far far to many against the good ones. Richarlison and digne basically.
Will take years to get them all out of the club.

Problems might come when Richarlison and DCL etc run out of patience.

Agreed. My thinking is he needs 2 summers to get his team together with 16 players out of contract by then and only 3 worth keeping.
Yeah that's what I'm basically saying, 3 seasons before we begin judging him harshly. He hasn't even had a full season yet and people have already spat the dummy out. Like I said unless in absolute dire straights we should stick with him, I mean who's better that's coming here? Ancelloti is our Robinho moment, we'd be mad to pull the trigger early.

Time is changing. A year is a long time in football these days. During this time one should see progression. Continuity is only good if it provides progression. I think a reasonable expectation is 60 points, and that we see a clear direction in our game pattern.

What is worrying is that the curve has started to go down, and there is a negative correlation between results (and performance) and how many games Ancelotti has been manager. He is dependent on getting positive results again pretty quickly.

A point average of 1.58 is to be expected, which gives 60 points. This season the average is 1.55, and we are not far away. But as mentioned, he should start winning games again, and the next 6-7 games are tough.

Ironically, we meet Arsenal in 3 games, and if the results of both Everton and Arsenal have not improved, this match could be crucial for one of the managers (especially Arteta).

Maybe, but thats the nature of the beast until we win things then we will be a stepping stone,as much as we like them they can be replaced,Id rather stick with Carlo than sack him and end up with Eddie Howe,Arteta or Wilder
