This is our formation for my sunday league side 4-4-2 but with the big man playing deeper and pacey striker on the last man and how Everton started the season there were alot of comparisons (shockingly bad football by 11 players looking like they'd been out til 3am the night before)

Back to PL football, I have no problems Everton or any team playing this formation, the whole" it's outdated" is rubbish, you play the formation which bring the best out of your team. The best managers are the ones which do that and don't follow the trend.

I think 4-4-2 is the only formation that suits our current attacking player's.

I used to love watching side's play the formation with two fast winger's. That was exciting football, and successful.

Football isn't as difficult as a lot of modern coaches try to make it with their philosophies etc, simple 442 works it did for a long long time.

I try explain this even in my 5-a-side games. Football is such a simple sport to play; pass and move. Doesn't matter on formations if you play fast and confidently.
