Cahill Hints at Exit

okay this is enough. its about all i can [Poor language removed] listen to now. i've heard people on here rag on player after player, but i have to draw the line at cahill. he is bad form right now that does not make him a bad player. he will undoubtedly go down in history as an everton legend no matter what the [Poor language removed] kingjoleon thinks.

and as it says, he's leaving 4 years at the soonest, when he is 33 years old. is that really that terrible? he wants to end his career somewhere else, like most players do. i'm okay with this, not because i for some reason think he's a bad player, but because at that age he will already have helped our club immeasurably.

seriously is there any player that is immune to the irrational criticism? i dont' think i can think of a single [Poor language removed] player that hasn't been slated by the "fans" on here. to say they're playing badly is honest, to say they are bad players because of current form is fickle and absurd.

goddammit

I think like Davek (I think) said, this seems to be all part of general malaise currently sweeping the club. God knows where it comes from, but when the players are effected we need to [Poor language removed] sort it out quickly. That task goes to Moyes and Round.

If he continues to play like he has of late then he's a must in the team. He's the only player who gives us that tenacity and agression in midfield. There's no doubting he's got his short comings but he was one of the few who never hid yesterday.

He wanted the ball and he wanted to win, that's what Tim's all about at his best. If he continues to play in that style then I'd be very happy to keep him in the team. If he revert's back to prentending he's a striker then he's not worth anything to us.

When Cahill's healthy, he most definitely does the job for us.

Many may have short memories but I can't begin the recall the number of times Cahill has scored crucial goals for us. Forget all the run of the mill goals he's scored.

He'll be here through the end of his contract.

The fact that he's not 100% fit and the fact that the entire squad is suffering from a lack of form is no reason to get on his back.

It would be a dark day if he left us before his contract ran out.

For a start he's not lazy. He ran his balls off last night & while he didn't score, if you think he didn't put a shift in you're deluded. I agree with 1 point, everyone has to earn the right to wear the royal blue shirt by working hard but Cahill does. He might not be able to spray the ball around like Beckham but everyone has good points & bad points & 1 of Cahill's bad points is not lack of effort.

Even if it was, how could an extremely valuable player leaving for nothing be a positive thing?

Cahill - Arguably Moyes' best signing, a fantastic player, a fantastic person, A fantastic goal scorer. He is Mr. Everton. And you want rid KJ.

Its a nothing rumour, hell go when hes 32 or 33 and out of contract. Then he'll probably go into coaching in Australia, and eventually make his way to Europe again.

Tim Cahill has moved quickly to dispel suggestions that he is poised to leave Everton.

Stories in Australia have claimed that the Blues midfielder is poised to quit Goodison and return down under when his current contract expires in 2012.

It was suggested that he will sign for South Coast FC, who hope to join the elite A-League in time for the 2010-11 campaign, and he was quoted as saying: "Nothing would give me greater pleasure than to round off my football life playing for a team that I'm convinced will get a licence to join the competition sooner rather than later."

However, Cahill has stressed that comments he made to the Australian media have been taken completely out of context.

"Everyone knows that I am fiercely proud of my roots and that perhaps one day I may play club football back home but to say that I will be doing it at the end of my current deal is simply not true," he said.

"I am 28 years old and, with all due respect, when my contract expires I would hope that I will still have a few more years left at this level of the game."

Cahill takes a huge interest in football in Australia and has plans in place to establish a soccer academy but he has disappointing news for any of his fans who may be anticipating a hero's return in three years time.

"The English Premier League is the best in the world and it has the best players so I have absolutely no plans to move on," he concluded.

Agree with all of this. Expect some positive rep coming your way.(y)(y)(y) :D
Is going to be a very sad day for me personally, when he eventually will leave Everton Football Club.:(

Heads are rolling today mate. It's like the French Revolution on all Everton forums not just this. Everyone has to go after the Wigan performance. It's a day when Alan Irvine assumes the mantle of Matt Busby, and Leighton Baines has the credibility of a young Roberto Carlos.

To true mate!

I mean Cahill has been our most influential player since he arrived, bar the odd month or when he's injured. Give him time and he'll be back on fire. And one thing with Tim, he's one of the few people on the playing staff that likes the club and fans. That coupled with his undoubted ability to score goals is a glorious attribute to have. So he's staying put. :D

So true, i wouldnt sell him for 30m.

Ive siad it here many times you only realise what Cahill brngs to a team when hes not in it. His tenacity, tone and tempo is vital for the team and he leads by example. I was bit dissapointed he didnt get the armband last night. Hopefully theres plenty of time for it.

Can anyone with a straight face actually say we dont miss when he is out injured!

Didnt think so.

Cahill is just getting the brunt of peoples bad moods, because they've realised finally that we've spent 15 million on an mediorce footballer in Fellaini.

Oh and anyone who says Cahill is lazy, is clearly clueless.

I like you KJ, i think you speak sense, but your speaking absolute [Poor language removed] here mate.

He ALWAYS gives 100%.

Oh and Danny, give it a rest on how Cahill can't tackle or pass.
