Cahill Hints at Exit

Still attracts the ball like a magnet - he could and should have had 3 or 4 in the last two games. Some players just know where to be where and when it matters. Only a matter of time before he starts scoring again.

As do the entire team bar Jagielka. Remember he has been playing with an injury on his foot, and he still isnt fully fit from when he was injured.

Him in particular for me though Dom.

Nearly every game this season I have said he has been anonymous. For me, Cahill is a supporting striker, he is a liability in a four man midfield in that he isn't a ball winner and can't pass for toffee. Putting him on the wings or in a four man non-defensive midfield isn't the answer. We should play to Cahills strength, he is great in an around the area, he a great nack of getting to the ball first - coming live when we gain the ball so we should be going 4-5-1 with Cahill and Fellaini supporting either Yak or Saha until we get a bit of bite and a ball winner in the middle of the park.

No, just it was reported, so if he did want to elave to go to a bigger club - and im sure a bigger club would have bid for him after the World Cup - he couldve handed in a transfer request at any time.

But they didn't bid, i wonder why?

He wont hand a transfer request in because no club above us would have him.

He is here to earn his money, nothing else, players like him should not be idolised. He doesn't wear his heart on his sleeve, he doesn't put 100% in game in game out.

Players like Jags, Stubbs, they are classed as Mr Everton for me.

Fortunately, that's not a requisite of being a good footballer as Cahill most certainly is.

He's done good for us. A lot of good.

And now due to the squad's current form, we're gonna start to throw the baby out with the bathwater?

I've said it for 3 years

I think he's showed more heart lately then most of the team.

He does need to pull his finger out of his arse though, some of the chances he's wasting are unreal.

Still he is getting chances, which is more that can be said for Yakubu. As soon as he scores he will start taking them chances more.

Heads are rolling today mate. It's like the French Revolution on all Everton forums not just this. Everyone has to go after the Wigan performance. It's a day when Alan Irvine assumes the mantle of Matt Busby, and Leighton Baines has the credibility of a young Roberto Carlos.

okay this is enough. its about all i can [Poor language removed] listen to now. i've heard people on here rag on player after player, but i have to draw the line at cahill. he is bad form right now that does not make him a bad player. he will undoubtedly go down in history as an everton legend no matter what the [Poor language removed] kingjoleon thinks.

and as it says, he's leaving 4 years at the soonest, when he is 33 years old. is that really that terrible? he wants to end his career somewhere else, like most players do. i'm okay with this, not because i for some reason think he's a bad player, but because at that age he will already have helped our club immeasurably.

seriously is there any player that is immune to the irrational criticism? i dont' think i can think of a single [Poor language removed] player that hasn't been slated by the "fans" on here. to say they're playing badly is honest, to say they are bad players because of current form is fickle and absurd.

goddammit
