because he's lazy. I dont care how many goals he gets, he needs to earn the right to cover up his stupid tattoos with our blue shirt with hard work guts and guile

When Cahill's healthy, he most definitely does the job for us.

Many may have short memories but I can't begin the recall the number of times Cahill has scored crucial goals for us. Forget all the run of the mill goals he's scored.

He'll be here through the end of his contract.

The fact that he's not 100% fit and the fact that the entire squad is suffering from a lack of form is no reason to get on his back.

It would be a dark day if he left us before his contract ran out.

For a start he's not lazy. He ran his balls off last night & while he didn't score, if you think he didn't put a shift in you're deluded. I agree with 1 point, everyone has to earn the right to wear the royal blue shirt by working hard but Cahill does. He might not be able to spray the ball around like Beckham but everyone has good points & bad points & 1 of Cahill's bad points is not lack of effort.

Even if it was, how could an extremely valuable player leaving for nothing be a positive thing?

Its a nothing rumour, hell go when hes 32 or 33 and out of contract. Then he'll probably go into coaching in Australia, and eventually make his way to Europe again.

Tim Cahill has moved quickly to dispel suggestions that he is poised to leave Everton.

Stories in Australia have claimed that the Blues midfielder is poised to quit Goodison and return down under when his current contract expires in 2012.

It was suggested that he will sign for South Coast FC, who hope to join the elite A-League in time for the 2010-11 campaign, and he was quoted as saying: "Nothing would give me greater pleasure than to round off my football life playing for a team that I'm convinced will get a licence to join the competition sooner rather than later."

However, Cahill has stressed that comments he made to the Australian media have been taken completely out of context.

"Everyone knows that I am fiercely proud of my roots and that perhaps one day I may play club football back home but to say that I will be doing it at the end of my current deal is simply not true," he said.

"I am 28 years old and, with all due respect, when my contract expires I would hope that I will still have a few more years left at this level of the game."

Cahill takes a huge interest in football in Australia and has plans in place to establish a soccer academy but he has disappointing news for any of his fans who may be anticipating a hero's return in three years time.

"The English Premier League is the best in the world and it has the best players so I have absolutely no plans to move on," he concluded.

He is here to earn his money, nothing else, players like him should not be idolised. He doesn't wear his heart on his sleeve, he doesn't put 100% in game in game out.

Players like Jags, Stubbs, they are classed as Mr Everton for me.

He is one of the hardest working players on the pitch bar Jagielka. Here for the money? I dont think so, otherwise he wouldve jumped at the chance when Utd, and Roma where interested a couple of seasons ago.

No, just it was reported, so if he did want to elave to go to a bigger club - and im sure a bigger club would have bid for him after the World Cup - he couldve handed in a transfer request at any time.
