Does anyone know if the wonder boy is fit? It says on the OS that they arent gonna take any risks with him but is there any chance he will be fit? anyone got a scoop?

Hmm, i hope he plays...Aus need him next month for WCQ

You can [Poor language removed] off..........

He should retire from international fotball. This is his last chance. Another foot injury an that will be it for him. He needs to concentrat on Everton. We gave him his chance at the big time an stood by him for the last 2 injury plagued years. He needs to pay us back a bit!!

No way should he be going to play for aussie in the near future.

Completely agree.

Mate i love Everton, im blue until i die, but for the game to move ahead over here, we need players like Cahill to play for the national team.

the game will never progress in Australia or America im afraid to say, it was all going to progress with the Beckham mania but it did then the interest died again, we pay his wages and should tell him for the time being tough luck you've only just overcome breaking your foot a third time.

TBH i dont think he will play for Aus for a little while, we have a game on the 15th of October but i dont know if he will be used for that. Time will tell

Cahill should only play for Australia when 100% fit. In the past he has went around the world with Australia to sit on the bench and come on of the bench due to not being fit enough to start... that is not on.

Wasnt that long ago he said...

"Now I understand that when I come back from this, maybe I will have to think differently. My priority now is Everton and the Australian manager knows this. I’m not in any rush to be thinking about Australia."

I understand you want him to play. But he has to get his prioratys right here. He would not have made it at any other club.......He was right for us, an we were right for him. He's a world star now an has to remember why.

Its only because of his injurys im saying he shouldnt play. If we get the rest of the season out of him injury free......then yes he should play for australia again. But for now he should consentrate on Everton alone.

I'll take issue with that comment.

If you look at where MLS started in 1996 and where it is today, it's come on by leaps and bounds.

Quality of play. Quality of players. Quality of management, from the boardroom to the managers.

It's improved immensely in that time. In addition, our National Team has benefited by the improved quality of play and development. The only main issue right now is player's wages. Not anywhere close to the standard of "professional."

Will we be EPL, Serie A, La Liga, etc...??? Not for quite a long time if ever.

But it's certainly a much better quality product on the field than it used to be.

Yeah, more games theoretically means more wear and tear. But I think he could just as easliy break playing against Stoke or Hull or in training. It's either gonna happen or not.... whatever will be will be.

That being said, I would prefer he not play.
