Truth is there won't be any turnaround until they manage to spend that transfer war-chest.

We saw no serious investment in the two years after we signed Lukaku and then had the underwhelming window this year. In the meantime this much heralded squad has just got a few years older and then it seems all of a sudden the bulk of them either are finished at this level and/or simply not good enough.

My biggest concern is that this is the same squad of players whom I was embarrassed and ashamed by when they downed tools in the March-May period. The attitude and lack of effort in that time was as bad as anything I have ever seen as a blue.

We got a bounce to begin with under RK but the idea that this group of players collectively have the ability, motivation, and determination to succeed is very far-fetched.

We need wholesale change and I suspect Koeman has known that since week one.

and that's what we were trying to do, but those involved with transfers proved themselves to be totally incompetent with a massive amount of transfers falling through and not being pushed over the line. There were a fair few factors, some of which weren't our fault, but we had a real chance to make a statement. We have to make that statement in january, which is nowhere near ideal.

I still believe the transfer window is partly to blame for this. We were clearly after a center back, central creative midfielder and striker. And these were the three areas where we have absolutely no decent competition for places. Honestly the only players I'd have in the first team next year are Williams, Baines, Gana and Lukaku.

He played well after we equalised, but that doesn't excuse an hour of being absolute pants mate.

People ignore just how much he upsets the final third by standing around static doing nothing beyond throwing his hands up in the air.

"Upsets the final third"? We didn't have a presence in the final third to upset. You've said it yourself, the 3 forwards overall were very poor for that first hour. If they had been creating anything at all of note for him and he'd been messing it up, then saying he "upset the final third" may have some truth to it.

That's not true now is it? You're watching the same flawed players expecting a different outcome. Pep or Arsene wouldn't do any better.

Ive been subdued all this season. I haven't been impressed with us at all, even when it looked like we were doing ok result wise. In truth we've had a first half against spurs, a second half against Sunderland and a 20 minute spell against Boro where we've been good. The rest of the time we have been terrible. An average, predictable team who are a Lukaku injury away from another bottom half finish.
