Burnley Case

I think the interesting point is not based on probability, but on fact. We had some of our motley impressive results in the games immediately following our initial points deduction. Those results effevtively negated the points that were taken from us. Or, is Burnleys argument based upon removing the points from us post season?
The argument wasn't that the points deduction should have been applied in that season, it was that Everton's sporting advantage caused Burnley to be relegated instead of Everton. Burnley suggested the points deduction might itself represent the extent of the sporting advantage; the commission didn't accept that, but then did take some statistical mumbo jumbo as enough to conclude that we would have been relegated instead of Burnley.

The whole thing is just another Colossal F... up in the game, everything around the game now is it's downfalls not it's upsides, the simple Beautiful game has been taken off the field and into boardrooms/courts.

We have the biggest farce going on in America at the moment. Once the greatest competition in the world.

What even is this game anymore, if we can still call it a game.

Stop trying to change things that were never broke.

We ballsed up and rightly paid for it, This is just another disaster waiting to blow.

( I'm saying this as a football fan, not an Everton fan.)

And it gets worse. We are "forced" to hand them over the cash before the appeal which will likely succeed but Burnley won't even be able to pay it back according to their legal team because their finances are so dire. It is fraud. Burnley should be liquidated and shrivel into a biscuit.

Im assuming more details have been released that I havent seen, but, were the points we were deducted, and therefore the perceived level of sporting advantage gained not 4 points over 3 seasons? So not enough to relegate Burnley?

Slightly unrelated, but a 100% true story.... a good few years ago Inwas driving home from work. I went into the left filter lane before some traffic lights. A woman pulled right across through queuing traffic to enter a car park, right across my path. She hit me.

Anyway, she was meeting friends in that car park and they acted as witnesses for her. Her claim came through .amd after some investigation by myself, as my insurance team were absolutely useless, I found oit that she was claiming for loss of earnings for her, her partner and her 16yo son.

Neither she, her partner or her son had jobs. She was basing her claim on the inability of her or her partner being able to travel to the job centre while their car was in for repair. And her sons loss of earnings based upon their belief that he would suffer trauma from the crash which would therefore effect his ability to maximise his GCSE results, potentially preventing him from following his dream of working in medicine.

Anyway, this Burnley thing stinks a bit of that palaver
how much was 'the jackal' contract to put things right?

If we ever get to hear the outcome of the 115 charges against City and they are found guilty, even of some of the complaints, it should open a tidal wave of complaints from other clubs complaining i.e. "City beat us away and we drew at home but they got a last minute equaliser from a player that they probably wouldn't have been able to afford, and so we finished 12th instead of 11th and that has cost us millions in terms of etc etc etc". If we ever get to hear the outcome of course....
