Isn't David Silva wonderful? Love watching him play. I think him, Mata & Arteta remind us all just how bloody good the Spanish are. The 3 of them are nowhere near the Spanish XI and are 3 of the best players, for 3 of the best teams, in this league.
Silva especially embodies everything good about football: wonderful awareness, breathtaking technique, supremely hard working, and a great attitude. Reminds me alot of Pienaar; I think he is the perfect version of the Pienaar-type player.
I think we've got the best possible poor man's Silva in Pienaar. I don't think we can hope to get anywhere near as good as him.

Exactly what i think mate. As much as I like Cahill he has none of these qualities and we've been crying out for them since we signed AJ. There are some really good footballers out there that could do a job for us, I jst hope we find one in an eastern european car booty or spanish firesale.

Silva starts for Spain quite often but agree with everything else especially the Pienaar bit.
This Fella has got Boss ideas.
How about Afellay from Barca ? Hes quick, Tricky and can hit them.
Borja Valero(ex West Brom) from Villareal would make me cream, unfortunately will never happen.

Give Don his due he seems to watch every obscure league about, probably with no socks on.
I don't think many asian players can cope with the physicality of the PL as the typical build is very different to a typical western/european build. I think it's why relatively few italians do well here too.
That said as the game develops over there more quality will seep through.

Villareal have got some quality footballers. I reckon their tea lady could come and pull the strings for us.
There are alot of players he suggested that would do well here, Honda, Usami, Guarin.
As i said , Afellay would do well as well.
