........I knew the Europa winners qualify for the Champions League but I didn't realise it was at the expense of the lowest qualifying team from that country. English winner means only the top3 qualify for the Champions League.

You 100% on that mate. I thought that UEFA changed the 4 team rule to allow 5 if;

1. English team win it, then finish 5th.
2. English team win EL, and finish outside top 4.

But then again, might be wrong!

...not sure, Roydo, just what was said in the pub but a few responses suggest the info is wrong. Just imagining if we won it and the pool came 4th (not that such things happen).

I stand corrected.

Well that would be delicious. But then you just know what would happen dont you.......

I think the Europa League winners go straight into the CL group stages. Not sure of what happens to the lower CL qualifiers from the same country then with where they start out. But if the CL winners don't qualify themselves automatically the next year, they take the automatic group place and the EL winners have to play a play-off round.

Maximum of 5 teams from those that have 4 CL qualifiers. If an English team wins the EL and either Arsenal, Chelsea or City win the CL AND finish outside the top 4 then only the top 3 qualify. Giving a total of 5.

It would not suprise me one little bit if yet another special dispensation was announced to let the [Phrase removed] into the CL.
Perhaps based on the incredible amount of wreaths they have laid this year all over the world, and it looks like they will be laying them all over Australia later this year.

We ended up in a bar next to some bear pit
Was great in there though, 'only' 7 francs a pint, and was right on the riverfront so everyone was stood outside
Walked to the ground too, took half an hour I think, had been on the ale since 10.30am though so can't be certain with time frames..
Brilliant trip though, one of the only times that I reckon I've said I'd go back to a place if everton weren't playing there
