Yes, still ecstatic. Great and memorable trip but not without its drama after I lost my wallet and went into meltdown as they wouldn't issue us replacement tickets.

Some really great guys tried to console me and offered to buy me replacement tickets but the ticket office refused to sell any to us. The lads that tried to help us were brilliant and if I could remember what they looked like I would buy them several beers.

You can imagine my relief when we went straight back to the hotel to find the wallet on the bed and we got back to the ground in time for kick off and enjoyed the win.

Evertonians are the best.

There was something in one of the local papers about it but it sounded pretty minor.

yeah, about 15/20 Bern lads tried to attack the blues waiting in the station, a few punches and kicks on both sides then the Police were all over it

The police sounded pretty organised. Same story said they broke up a larger group of YB lads who were planning to take on one of the EFC bars later on. Escorted a few of them down to the police station and let them cool down there for a while.

They did seem a bit forlorn about how their arrangements for EFC fans to walk to the stadium (in a proper "Euro-ultra" manner) had been ignored and everyone just piled on the trams and caused chaos on the public transport system...

........I knew the Europa winners qualify for the Champions League but I didn't realise it was at the expense of the lowest qualifying team from that country. English winner means only the top3 qualify for the Champions League.
