Well...I've seen the game now...shame I missed it live. I was watching and only saw Rom's first header on goal that was brilliantly saved by their keeper. Then work reared it's ugly head with a bit of an emergency.

We really played well overall. Howard's position on the first was wank, but if you watch the replay, he doesn't see the shot initially...his vision was blocked. Anyway, not sure how many make that save. Thought he atoned well with some other big saves.

Rom played as well as he's played for us...hold up play...winning balls in the air...excellent finishing (except that one). But he made their keeper work hard for a couple of other fine saves. Could have been 4 or 5 just from him.

Thought Stones deserved the pen...but why a straight red? Makes no sense to me.

I don't know if it was the pitch or a bit of confidence (or both), be we moved the ball so much faster. Really played some beautiful stuff!
 
Just watched the game again...great pace and movement. It's like a Jekyll and Hyde transformation watching Everton there. And, tbf, the young lads from Switzerland played a style that made the match a cracker

Bullets in the post. As mad as that sounds I honestly believe they are scared of bad mouthing the cult. Talking us up is equally a crime to them. Talk us down and we just shrug and get on with it. Talk them down though...

I have had to remove a few mentalists from school off my social media as they still think they are aged 15 and can go around threating violence to anyone who bad mouths their religion. Lunatics. Not all of them, but far more than any other club.
 
Great performance from EFC. Especially Barkley, Oviedo, Jags, Coleman and, of course, Lukaku. Honorable mentions for Barry and Mc Carthy especially for that goal line save.

I need to have a moan though. Was it just me or was Howard at fault on their goal? And his punching? Another moan, Naismith. Plenty of effort and plenty of mistakes, especially when passing forward. Passing backwards no problem. Still he was involved in one of the goals.
 
I did my best to find the moment where the foul is being committed. Looks like a pretty clear DOGSO to me. The officials were far from perfect tonight, but I believe they got the Stones dismissal correct.
