I don't ever wear scarves as part of my attire, but this morning when I was going to work it was crazy cold, like -9 degrees F, a.k.a. -23 degrees C. So I decided to grab my Everton scarf to add an extra layer. Today is the only day I've ever worn it to work. Just saying.
Wool.

i wore my everton polo in work today, accidently picked it up. seems as though a good luck charm is to wear everton attire to work - think we should all buy lucky everton boxers/ imagine the luck with 60-70k lucky boxers

I've got socks what my son bought me mate and they have been dog Shyte for me. Will request some y fronts from him though tomorrow if I go near the club shop

was wondering what the beaut was on about.

team who hit 4 past wolfsburg, 3 past lille and 4 past YB - Nah
team who topped possibly the toughest group from seed 3 - Nah
team who's unbeaten in all 4 away games - Nah

let's put a negative spin on it, beauts all over the place, i love how we [Poor language removed] so many different TV stations when there's literally nothing hateworthy about everton. i've never met a genuine football fan who's said they hate anything about everton.
On holiday, whenever they hear your accent they'll ask if you are red or blue. When you reply blue. I've never heard opposition fans say a bad word about us. Normally it's along the lines "proper football club" "great fans". Then it is followed by how much they hate the RS. It's ironic glen Johnson stated last year in the title run in that most 'neutrals' want liverpool to win the league. Well I can honestly say i know city, Chelsea, arsenal, spurs, Blackburn and Leeds fans and not one of them wanted liverpool to win the league. The common reply was we'd never hear the last of it if they did. It does beg the question why are they such media darlings?

exactly. is it the fact they punch above their weight given the finances? no
are the attractive to watch? never
do they have a history of producing horrible vile footballers? yes
are their fans notorious for causing loads and loads of trouble? yes
do they cheat a lot to win games? yes

i mean, i don't get it. they win a lot of tophies yes, but i've barely seen them win one on merit if i'm being honest. united have a much better recent history but i wouldn't call them media darlings. they're talked about a lot, but i wouldn't say they get a mass of praise heaped above them.

Spot on mate. I've been away with the missus to a few places and met all kind so fans of clubs. All are sound and mention what u say, the missus being a Kopite spends half the holiday trying to defend her beloved club lol I said to her last week, why does she think every away team sings about Gerrard slipping? Sub human being, sub England captain, plays for the shyte.

And yet the RS consider united to be the media darlings!!!! United's popularity stems from how busby rebuilt the team after Munich and subsequently won the european cup. Even growing up in the 80s, I still don't consider we got the credit we should have, for that title winning team of 84-85. I remember Ron Atkinson said after they beat us in the cup final they had beaten the best team in Europe. Brian clough I seem to recall was very complimentary about us. They were from top managers of the day, yet the national media barely acknowledged our success.

which in my opinion is a great story. i wouldn't say liverpool have generated anything that great in their history. just a flukey 8 min spell before ultimately drawing another big game.

clough also said not to drink anything handed to his players at anfield in case it was spiked because he didn't trust them, did he not? that statement has them down to a tee.

like i say, i would find it hard not to hate that club even if i wasn't an evertonian and i'd probably root for everton amongst all the money floating around the other top 7 clubs.

I enjoyed the fact that there wasn't a big change-up in tactics. That was the same system we've played most of the season. The players just played to their abilities and made the system work. Something they should have done more of this season.
Or perhaps the system works better against European teams and we could do with adjustments for the league?

Perhaps....

You could argue hatred for the RS stemmed from jealousy of them winning everything in the 70s and 80s, but they haven't won the league for 25 years and yet opposition fans still detest them nowadays, so it can't be down to jealously now. Maybe other supporters see everton like the media, plucky everton punching above their weight, but like I said many times we get credit off opposition fans for bring a proper club who conduct themselves properly.
