Looked off the pace but the lad needs game time.

Got to give him the chance and hope he's not lost that yard of pace. Least we have Garbutt back next season and hopefully a fully fit Baines in 3 months time.

Looked leggy to be expected, think his Everton career must be short lived giving his contract situation, shame bout his injury but he gave us a magical night at Old Trafford. Really hope he rebounds and has a great season.

Nothing wrong with his commitment and he seemed to be moving fine going forward, but as a defender he turns his back on the winger far to often and even though he's got good pace he's prone to a ball in behind and long his man.

He can cover for Baines when he's injured but to many people have been dragged in by a few tweets and a late winner against Utd.

He's a good squad player but nothing more if everyone's fit.

Needs game time I agree.

But if I hear anyone say "come on, he broke his leg" again, I'll go bananas!
It was 18 months ago, what a farce.

Yesterday he stunk the place out, and Barnsley targeted him everytime, almost as if he'd forgot how to play football, but it's okay, because he comes over to the fans and waves, top blue him!

If we weren't so short on left backs, I'd say get him loaned out to get sharp again!

He'll get better. Just a question of if he's the same player or can at least get back to that level.

Remember he was woeful when Moyes first started playing him and everyone wondered why on earth we bought him, but get him fit and playing in a system where he knows his role and he'll be an asset.

True Doug, for me I prefer Luke but unfort went on loan and got injured there!

Really good. I was worried after mid week but playing 210 minutes in 3 days when you're low on match fitness is very impressive.

Oddly he was better against Spurs defensively than Barnsley, and also got up the other end too. Some engine on him.

We look more balanced with an actual LB at LB.

He'll benefit from the workout he's had this week and should be fitter for Chelsea. Has to hit the weights a bit as well though, for me. Very easily muscled off it at times.

I know he is finding his legs again but he is struggling under pressure and he is losing the ball a bit too much in advanced positions. He still needs a bit of time but we need him fully fit up and running considering the situation at left back.
