Bryan Oviedo

Not a dig at you specifically mate, but I am sick and tired of reading this comment because it's simply untrue. We use our fullbacks in a very attacking manner, which requires them to be very pacy and to have an engine. Barry has neither of these qualities.

Oviedo should be in the match day squad - he has put in a decent performance every time he's had an opportunity in his entire time with us.

Well maybe we use them because they can do that, if they couldn't do that we wouldn't ask them to.

In other words, Barry can play as an emergency left back if required but he won't be asked to play the same way as Baines or Oviedo.

Bryan seems to be really struggling to regain full match fitness. Since his leg break, he's had a number of fleeting returns to the squad, followed by lengthy spells of absence. Clearly there is a lot more going on here in the treatment room. If he can get back to his form he showed in 2013/14 then I'd definitely have him as starting LB while Baines is out (Just realised his initials are his position...)

He's had some sort of operation (or complication in one of the cases?) about monthly because of that leg break tbh...

It could be last chance for him before his contract expires. Either he's ready now and with no competition from Baines, Garbutt, Galloway he can get a decent run in the first team and prove his worth or we're signing ashley cole and i really cant see him getting further opportunities and new contract

Will start against Barnsley, confirmed by Martinez.
I think that's a reluctant needs must choice. I'm doubtful he's fully fit, tbh. He'd have been in before now otherwise.

Fingers crossed he comes through it or we really could be looking at Barry playing LB against Spurs.

Oviedo is wonderful at cheering me up when feeling really down about football, he for one clearly loves the club.

The lad wants to play for Everton.

He'll do for me.

Anyone not up for it - there's the door you turd ------------------------------------>
