And wishing Russian thugs would punch out Ingerland fans when the people pounding away at their keyboards this morning, as you pointed out, don't watch/like/support the team (and thus not likely to be the ones getting punched) isn't a clear wind-up by me?

Generally try to stay out of the squabbling on this site, but this morning don't feel like it.Thought I'd fire off as well, seeing as so many enjoy making a hobby out of pissing in the Wheaties of other blues. Sorry. Didn't realize I didn't have the authority to do so.

At the end of the day the loss stings, hard, but at least will be in impetus for us to clean house and build anew rather than stagger on a listless relic by playing just well enough to qualify and nowhere near potential, and thus keep things status quo.

But do you genuinely think it will? When do we stop talking about how the US have potential to be great if they get their act together and just start admitting that they aren't really arsed about the sport and that's reflected in the fact you haven't qualified for the World Cup.

I'm not attempting to wind anyone up, but the same old argument gets trotted out about US football but in reality you're no further forward than say 5 years ago, in-fact you appear to have gone backwards. I'm happy to admit that the England team are overrated and play turgid terrible football but there seems a reluctance, or at least there did before this game for Americans to admit the same about their national team.

I'm almost speechless. A failure on a level I wasn't sure was possible. Ironically comes at a time when we have the best player we've maybe ever had in Pulisic, and then this. Depressing.

I'm genuinely sad you won't be there mate

I've always looked out for the USA since Lando came to town

Was rooting for you against Belgium and was gutted when you went out

I honestly think this campaign is a blip

They went with the same generation one time too many and it bit them

Again, the younger sides are apparently quite good

They'll almost certainly host in 2026, they've got time to give that tournament a proper go

Time will tell Mikey, but using England as a yardstick in any argument about how they've done is an utterly pointless argument.

Absolutely Ludicrous that the US managed to blow this. Ludicrous.

With the kindest of respects to Panama, who are very organised, and a smart unit, who may have benefited from a very conspicuous decision; and in particular to Honduras, who have proved consistently over the last two World Cups that they're a poor outfit (31st and 32nd out of 32 in their respective campaigns, with 1 goal scored, and 11 conceded), it should never have came to the last round, and even then how the States never been Trinidad is a mystery?

The so called "golden age" of football is supposedly arriving in the US, soccer is finally taking off, youth is getting stronger and they're building foundations to be a force in the the future (albeit, a long way off!). Whilst the team is obviously not as good as 2002 (Jozy Altidore for example), this team should EASILY be progressing.

The away record is terrible, and Costa Rica, featuring none other than biscuit legs Bryan Oviedo took 6 points from them.

Appalling.

Huge questions will have to be asked now about the whole set up.

In the meantime, congratulations to Panama. Try not to absolutely bomb like Honduras!
