It was Cresta and originally it was a Cream based drink marketed by Schweppes It was great but the problem was, the cream curdled on supermarket shelves and the product was unsellable / undrinkable. Later became just a standard fizzy drink. (uninteresting fact, I used to work for schweppes in those days when they were at 66 Long Lane)Wasn't it Cresta with the Polar Bear?

The Confectioners at the Belfast Folk and Transport Museum still sells sweets by weight. What about the shops that sold sweets by weight. "quarter of chocolate nibbles/rhubarb and custard/Choc Crumble please. I know there's some niche shops knocking about now, but the prices are shocking. You could go in with your measly pocket money back in the day, come out with a huge bag of sweets and still have a bit to spend.
Oh, and the shops that used to slice the cooked meat, and sell cream cakes and what not.
Miss all that.
Liquorice Toffees do that to me. An amazing sweet with horrific consequences.Used to take your fillings out![]()
