Lot of assumptions thereIn defence of moyes, assuming myko and aznou are out of the squad as they are unfit the only decision to be made is whether Patterson plays, personally I wouldn't play him either but also don't want O'brien show horned into back 4 which is why I think we've gone with the only option available that is back 3
KDH will be the furthest midfielder forward...Who da fug knows?![]()
Pep and Arteta have at times played 4 CBs across the back lineFour centre halves!
I've just had to explain why I was laughing out loud to my wife. I do vaguely remember many, many years ago we did the same thing and got the win so maybe we'll do it again BUT it says everything about the mess the recruitment team have got us in to. JOB will do fine (although creating isn't his strength) but it will be Branthwaite who will suffer and damage his reputation (if he tries getting forward too much). I have a horrible feeling that he'll pull a hammy too if he needs to chase back.
All in all, a dogs dinner.
That said, perfect for sitting in and breaking at speed with Barry netting another 1-0 winner for us.
COYB
I would not be opposed to a back three of O’Brien, Tarkowski, and Branthwaite.
I even think it would be good to get Aznou in the squad at LWB.
The issue I have with this formation is we do not have a RB that can deliver anything beyond a turnover in the final 3rd.
Playing Patterson at RWB is essentially playing with 10 men offensively and at a -15 turnover ratio to the opposition from the jump.
Yes, but look at the quality players in midfield & attack they have ..... saying that we always have a pre match fume & do well away from home?Pep and Arteta have at times played 4 CBs across the back line
Branthwaite is a better left back than Mykolenko, and Mykolenko being out has forced that.
Personally I like us going with actual full backs for balance, but I'm not going to fume over Nathan Patterson not playing.
We've got players on the pitch who can score goals, so lets hope we can nick a win here.
UTT.
Unless you can provide those stats and the context around them that looks very much like hyperbole.I understand the logic in that perspective. However:
There is no excuse for putting Michael Keane in a starting 11. None. Ever.
This is not hyperbole. Statistically, Keane has negatively impacted EFC more than any footballer to ever wear the shirt.
That back four looks worse than what we are putting out today, I stand corrected.
Dave and Chico have nothing on this cat when it comes to trolling the GOT dars...4 centre half's is peak moyes
Better without Dwight as we play with ten men with him in the side - so that's a plus .....4 centre half's is peak moyes
