....every Saturday I get up at 06.00am, nip out and get my Racing Post. I pick out my losers, put my bets on at exactly 09.00, taking the early prices, go home have a couple of proper Manx kippers. At 12.30 I'm out with my pals drinking a bucket full of Guinness and watching the racing in the pub.

The breaking news is there's no horse racing on Christmas Eve. Never mind, I suppose the racing community deserves some time off. I'll just have to do with kippers and Guinness!!!

We are currently seeing an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our IT team as an IT Assistant. The role will be based at Goodison Park, working 35 hours per week.

You will assist the IT systems & services manager ensuring the maintenance, support and proper functioning of the club’s ICT systems during normal office hours with specific reference to the Ticketing, Retail, Hospitality and Windows domain and operating systems.

You will need to have good communication skills, orally and in writing. Good organisational skills and be able to multi task and solve problems. Due to the nature of the role there will be times when you will be working at a number of Everton’s different sites and therefore you will need to have the ability to work independently and as member of a team, and to interface with other departments in the business

You will need to have knowledge and understanding of current trends and developments in information technology and be able to use active Directory Management. Have knowledge of networking fundamentals (switching/cabling/DHCP), mobile technology (iPhone, Android and Blackberry deployment) and knowledge of Microsoft operating systems (Windows 7 / 8 / 10) with emphasis on Office365 & Apps.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To provide hardware and software support services for the Everton Football Club network.
  • To help maintain hardware and software inventory including security patch management.
  • To assist in monitoring software license compliance.
  • Setting up new users' accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues
  • Installation, configuring and troubleshooting of network hardware
  • Comprehensive desktop support to staff, students and visitors.
  • Software deployment to workstations on networks
  • Audio Visual and Internet support
  • To ensure user compliance with EFC network procedures and provide user training where applicable.
  • To maintain and control stocks of IT consumables.
  • Keep up-to-date IT records as required by the IT Manager
  • Log support calls
In line with the Club’s grading structure, this role is graded as a 7.
