Mate, as a scum-shovel (bus) user meself, £1.80 will only get you three stops, so unless he had dough and needed the money to make up the rest then he's having you on. Plus he'd have had a penalty ticket from the guard/blakey on the train if he'd been booted off - they never let nowt go, them.
