Try nearer six hours mate... that road is not good at all and there used to be a few vehicle/license spot checkpoints along the way too.

Takoradi also suffers from frequent power cuts mate, so don't get too stressed when the lights go out at all different times of the day or night.
Get the phone number for the local electric office and hound them endlessly, it's the only way to get things sorted in a reasonably decent time frame.
Also, when it rains in Ghana, it absolutely buckets down, monsoon conditions are not uncommon, so if you're on the ground floor, don't leave anything on the floor... And if you've got a roof, get it checked for leaks !!!!
