A country questions itself, mourns the dead, deals with issues of global importance. Meanwhile, in a trailer park, somebody's eggs were too cold ...

If any of you believe you could have written this story, why are you wasting time on this site? You should be writing full time and sending scripts to agents.

Anybody wanting to defend the N R A?

He means a guy went on a killing spree in a Kentucky trailer park because of a row over his breakfast. He shot his wife, step-daughter and three others before killing himself.

Crazy, crazy place, America. When will it ever learn?

Ban the shooters, folks.

i aint too savvy with the constitootion but doesnt it say `a right to bear arms`. you could say in england people with easy access to knives kill people. education my friend is whats needed in most cases

I think, generally, it's a bad idea to injure people (one of the reasons I felt a bit queasy about the Kopite in Gwladys St story), but unless a Brit comes up with a system of automated knives on a conveyor belt, then guns do far more damage.

Americans had a right to bear arms when the country was populated by savage animals, rather angry native peoples, and a law which didn't hold sway over the whole country. Surely not the case now?

i agree mate, guns are way freaky - i`ve got family in USA and no way will they have a gun coz of the `accidents` that can happen but for me theres no substitute for education and times have changed as you say but then you`re up against the nra who will obviously take the stance that guns dont kill people but ignore the fact that easy access to firearms is the major crux of the biscuit

You seem to be arguing against yourself here, mate.

i know- couldnt help it after i started with the -guys a nutcase with a gun .v. education post. i wasnt gonna be bloody minded for the sake of it and found me contradicting myself coz i dont believe the US gun laws suit the times(like you said) or stupidity of the nuts who can get hold of them so easily, you`d have to find someone other than me to defend the nra, i originally thought this thread was a muse about a late summer wander in the great country that is USA and didnt know of the shooting. i wasnt arguing for more/easier access to guns, it was for personal responsability and not blaming outside influences eg. music/eggs etc
