Boxing

I had Golovkin up on the cards and it was a matter of time before brook got stopped, Jesus Christ your acting like that 5th round didn't just happen

I said he was up after four, then after that the fight was clearly over as Brook had no vision so GGG just obliterated him.

Brook was up on the cards, and deservedly so as he won three of the first four without question. Intelligent defence, great counters, controlled the ring.

Saunders couldn't cope with Eubank when he started boxing and not conserving energy - I think GGG would tear him apart. He lacks the power and isn't unorthodox enough to bother GGG.
I agree. Full respect to brook for his performance tonight, but I don't think the commentators gave GGG enough credit for his performance. Yes, he was troubled by brooks superior boxing skills, but he still managed to walk away with another win and TKO. That's the sign of a great fighter.

Saunders would have the best chance against Golovkin at middleweight as he's the only one with the footwork to be able to stay off the ropes long enough. Eubank would be competitive for a few rounds until he got broken down like brook, Canelo's dodgy scorecards might be able to rob him it but he fights to much in bursts with little work rate and isn't powerful enough to hurt Golovkin.

No way Saunders would do anything against GGG he just hasn't the power to trouble him, I think Eubank has the best chance.

I'll be honest I agree with you. Thought GGG won the majority of the rounds, but we weren't ringside like the judges. Brook had impressive moments in all the rounds but I thought GGG did the majority of the work and therefore won the scoring, but apparently not.

the only one I could say would beat Golovkin with any confidence would be Andre ward at 168, but he's gone up. Nobody beats him at 160, Saunders would have a much better chance than Eubank. Eubank doesn't have the power to stop him and is easy to hit, he would be knocked out inside 6, clash of styles

Golovkin is and always has been a compact, unspectacular boxer who doesn't move his head. His strength - and it's an overwhelming one - is the combination of being able to cut the ring down quickly and with purpose, combined with freakish power.

GGG didn't deviate from his usual self tonight - what was different was what the opponent did.

Thats fairly sussinct but a little unfair on GGG.

Fair to say his power is spectacular. He doesn't need to float like a butterfly etc.

Absolutely. I was hoping beyond all hope that Brook would pull through miraculously but that was a great performance by Golovkin; and totally different to his one against Murray, for example. He abandoned his overhand right finisher that he loves after round two as it was leaving him open to the Brook uppercut - and started in the fourth to land this heavy flicked right that was snapping back Brooks head. He then spent the final round coming entirely from Brooks left side across his vision. Adapted superbly, he's absolutely unreal.

And lol at the bookmakers making Casimero nearly evens for KO / TKO.

I thought it was very close and a cracking fight, just a shame it didn't go longer. What is annoying me though is people praising Brook's training for throwing towel in. He was probably right to when he did it but he was happy to let him carry on fighting in the third and fourth when he knew he had broken his eye socket and was struggling to see. Can't have been that bothered about his wellbeing.
